:Most Newer dvd players can play DivX data-DVD's though. And the tech center has the newest of everything. ...Example... Your PC password is changed every 30mins, and the only way to obtain your password, is a fingerprint scanner, so I don't think old dvd players would be the case at the place I'm applying for a job.
ya thats exactly what I mean. So thats why I'm trying to figure out how I would go about making my dvd like any other dvd movie that I would download and burn.
Right now, the clearest I could get the video is 720x576, and the video size is 11.8Mib, I hardly loose quality at all, but can an .mpg file be burned as a DivX? This Video will be for my Portfolio, so I really need this whole thing sorted out.
Perhaps I should convert to DivX:

ok I made videos, and want to compress them so I can burn them to a dvd, but I don't want to lose the quality.

Pixels: 1024x768
Size: 2.43G
Program I'd like to use to compress is Pinnacle Studio 8. But quality decreases.
Any help would be appreciated.

Definetly need more detailI don't think thats much of a problem.. it looks real. Something you'd see in a city.. you know, not every map needs to be over detailed. Like the second screenshot, it looks fine due to the moody lighting.
I think this map will turn out great.. keep it up.

The image I seen was just a concept image.. but yep. Heres one, place your mouse over the 3D view, and hit z. now you can look around and select brushes at the same time.
Hey, I'm pretty much done a new HLDM map, but want 2 teams.. how do I do this?

Hello, I recently changed my internet service provider and now I'm getting Highspeed DSL instead of cable, mainly because there service is faster then the next leading service. However, I stumbled upon a problem. And now my Apache server is asking for a password.

that confused me a bit.. I never understood the meaning, or what you where trying to accomplish. But the 3d Camera switchup was really cool.

yep, I'll need the commands for viewing flatshaded in game and whatnot.. I think i seen a tutorial here once discussing that.
Anyways, I think I got a pretty good chance after talking with an older friend about the job Im applying for. The companies name is C.G.I. Have you heard of it? Probably.
ATM there looking to employ up to 300 people all from Prince Edward Island, and theres clearly not that many gamers here.
Benefits include flying me to California for a 2 week training course, where a laptop, cellphone, place to stay, and a weekly pay will be given to me. Afterwards, I'll be earning $34,000 on a year. So I really need this to fall through.
So I was thinking about making a DVD to go with my portfolio. But seeing how I only get 2 fps I think I'll be using my dads laptop to record.
What I really need is some really high quality video editing software. That when viewed on a television, won't look terrible and pixelated.

Also If I can't use my dads laptop, I'll need somebody with fraps to give me a hand for videos of some of my maps.

Well, I don't know to much about the company as of yet. I was just told about it yestaurday that they are always looking for people who enjoy creating games. All I know is they give training with there software and such. So mainly all my best screenshots of course along with wireframe images and such.. but I can't just have a folder in with pics.

umm... you mean Vanilla Steam right. Because if you map for Vanilla Source, you might as well map for HL2.. because those of us who have performance issues mapping for HL2 will have them mapping for HL1 Source.

ya I won't be competing in this one, probably for the same reasons as you Habboi. It's not for me. Good luck for those competing though.
Good luck for those competing though.but we just had a HL2 compo, if you do that, then every compo should be HL1 and HL2. Not just every once and a while. Because us HL1 mappers have to wait out when theres a hl2 compo, but when theres a hl1 compo, then source maps are allowed. Does'nt make any sense. It's not far. 
ya, not sure if I'm going to enter this one. I would'nt know what to map.. :/
