I haven?t worked so much with beams, but im woundering, is there a simple way to control when they start and stop, like a scripted sequense, make them go on and on and on in the same pattern?

After a huge mappier-block im back on track, changed the layout in the map for a better flow and less long walks. I made a messy overview over the first floor, there will be some kind of basement but i didn?t draw that, so the map is not dead, i just haven?t worked on it a lot because of the mappers block.

hopefully there will be some kind of in-game screenies in a near future, i still need to make some more textures and make the current ones better, and still some sprites missing. So it wont be done for months but it will come, someday.

well, it?s onlt on very rare ocations i carve cylinders, and it really ain?t that hard to keep track on things in the 2d views, really. but when i finaly do carve a cylinder the hole cover most parts if the brush so those 5 unnecessary brushes you are talking about ain?t that big and don?t disturb me at all. Or if the block is big enough i first cut out a square inside the big brush that suits the cylinder.

What?s there to show? some things that you create brush by brush and i carve them to save time, nothing fancy really. the cylinders might be a bit more, but i tryed to carve to cylinders in the same brush, that my friend was a decition from hell.

A tip to all people that tries to carve a cylinder, make sure that the brush you carve it from isn?t to big.

Don?t get me wrong now dudes!

I think that we have discoussed this matter many times over and we came up with a few things carving is bad for, but they made the carving tool for a reason and it works! Well most of the times, and when i "went nuts" with the carving tool i went nuts in a carefull way, it is true that most of the times you should build thing brush by brush, but carving is good for lets say you made a house, you need doors and window, carv them! It works fine! you shouldn?t be afriad of the carving tool, it?s really helpful many times, but as you said P, carving a block that touches the void is a bad idea.

I carve a lot, and it makes me wounder what in the name of god you people do with the carving tool when you get so many errors with it. Well, we have been over this so i don?t see any reason to start this all over again, some people carve and some people don?t, i think that we should just leave it with that.

There is nothing worng with carving guys, i made a test map, went nuts with the carving tool, i carved squars, cylinders and many other shapes and not a single error. Carving is a good tool, use it.

Im getting better at making my own textures, i have finaly finished banko_arena and it turned out nothing like the beta. And i started a new project just now, done some drawing. But i need to know if there is any special trick to do when making nice concrete and ice textures, it?s those two i have a hard time doing, and steel. Can someone please give me some tips on how to make it look good?

Ok here's the deal. My friend H?gge (mjah-bete) is becomming obsessed with World Of Warcraft, and me and a bunch of friends has started a campain to get him to stop doing that, just for fun. So what i want from TWHL is that everybody who want to help us save our friend H?gge (who happends to be a fellow member here at TWHL known as pungkulan) type your real name here. Make this list long, help us save him!

ps.
To send him a PM with the words "STOP PLAYING WOW!" would also be nice.

You all know the beta verison banko_arena? Well i took a break in dm_orithia, i've worked so hard i needed a break :P anyway, during that break i picked up the work on the final version of banko arean, and i came up with a great idea.

Now this is just a thought, so don't expect anything. But wouldn't it be cool with a banko mod? Lot's of high-action arenas and Q3 style jumping and all that stuff?

Well, it ain't that big a problem if the awp bullets get's trough the wall, that could be realistic, i don't know how "strong" the AWP is in real life but i've heard a big share of storys. But i managed to make a not to thick wall stop a AWP bullet. I don't remember how thick it was, not too thick, kind of like a real wall (the ones used outside buildings, not in them). I make the brush a func_breakable and made it trigger only. it worked fine, and so did the "func_wall" in that matter, and the func_button. But i couldn't make them any thinner, that made the AWP go trough. and i use the AWP to test the walls, them im really sure what the results are.

ah source... I like the HL1 enige better, it's more of a challange to make a map look good and to get it to run well... And there are less options in the entity part so there is more problem solving, like now! :D

I know how to make a wall block a bullet from any gun, but that either makes the wall too thick or making a big map lag, and im currently working on a kind of big map, so it would lag... If it already doesn't that is.
