I'm starting a total conversion of HL2, concept are being finished, organizing my team. And just like RabidMonkey said, push the engine to its limits, which in HL2's case, will be huge.

Ahh I see...

Well you can't expect a dead human corpse not to disitegrate, the only thing animating it is a headcrab, and I don't think it will replenish the body's flesh either.

By the looks of it, these are the zombies that have been headcrabbed for a VERY long time, their bodies decayed to reveal bones.

This also must be one of the farthest parts away from City 17 or any other civilization.

I read it, it's very interesting...

I also think that it's kind of annoying for people to be scared of death, you know, the period when all of us started thinking about it (Ages 10-15) and, sometimes, got scared.

When you die, you get relieved of your old and inferior shell, crumpled by years, and now you are as energetic as ever, feel free to do what you want to.

I believe ye Zombie, just like ye olden' days, back when I was in me hundreds, mods used to shove logs up our ye-knows-what-its and punch us in the face with a rock, kicking our teeth out in zee process, to close topics or "social groups" how we used to call 'em. Then they'd just dissapear. Anyone opposing zee rules would be chased to cliff's edge by a mad bull.

Ahh, the olden days.

Well, it depends on what kind of post it is, if it was a forgotten flame war, you're not going to expect welcoming arms, or let's say when a really good post has been made or was forgotten, while it has to be really really good, people will be ok with it.

In general, it's not a very good idea to revive posts that are two weeks old in any case. Usually, the good stuff people like always ends up on the front pages.

Keep in mind, the map is not done, I've only just begun tweaking the lights, and I still have some other aspects to finish. It might look like a box, but in the end it not going to be.

I just had this pop up in my mind. How do the phases of a game progress. I know it goes Alpha then Beta, and then I guess there's the final product.

Now what I want to know is what the game is during these phases. For example, is the Alpha phase just the game designing stage where mappers make the well, uh...maps! Can anyone clear this up for me?

Are all of the monster missing or just some? If you?re getting "Too much visible entities at one time" console message, then it's most likely because you have too much monsters.

It's better to have a small number of different monsters, have a bit of variety and experiment with it, in the end it might even be better than hundreds of same monsters at once.

hazardous!, if you use Zoner's Compile Tools the map will be fullbright by default when there's no light or light_spot entity within the map.

On the contrary, when you use Hammer's default tools and there's no light entity, the map is going to be pitch black, assuming you run RAD in the compiling.

No offence, but the maps look like they were made for midgets. Increase the height of the rooms. That size is only acceptable for shafts, large shafts, but not for rooms.

You improved on the last screenshot; make it just a bit higher.
