NinteT: Op4 has some enhanced entities and effects, which would give you an unfair advantage over people using vanilla HL.

More like mandatory co-op. Most puzzles you need a second player to complete. Me and Hunteh had a blast tonight, finish'd 'bout half of it. :>

Very fun and overall well-designed so far. I'm pretty amazed not having found any bugs/stability issues in the very first release. Top notch stuff.

.. was just released!

Download here

For those unfamilliar with Decay (if any), it was an official add-on to the PS2 version of Half-Life, where you play as Gina and/or Colette. No official PC version of it was released. This is the unofficial remake by a team of Ukrainian developers.

More info on the original here.

This should be interesting - will try it soon. :)

Not sure about Source, but 4 days is a tad much, even for a big map. If nothing's wrong with it, however, you can always ask someone with more processing power to compile it for you.

The server's had some serious performance issues, for which I've flamed the provider's Tech Support multiple times with no real answer. Though upon joining the server today, it seems as though the lag/other problems are gone.

.. so if anyone were to be so kind and simply join the server to see if the problem's still there for them, I'd apply the apropriate measures and have it fixed for good. :)

Also, mapchange and other nitpicks are now fixed too.

Minimum requirement is a .BSP file (or files) that works with Steam HL or the latest version of HL2:EP1, EP2, or Portal.
Anyway, HL 1.1.1.0 doesn't differ that much from Steam HL. If your map works flawlessly on WON it should work fine on Steam as well.

I would have used a custom mod file to use a modified titles.txt file and altered a few models but I don't want to clutter up my valve folder with junk.
You have a point there. However, it's actually not much of a problem for the judges to replace/re-replace the titles/sentences/model files, so if you really need that, go right ahead and include it.

Though I actually wouldn't be too much against minimod format for those kind of things, as they might play quite a role in the puzzle.

OK, so no minimod format, but can it still be multiple maps, as long as i make the appropriate adaptations to the readme?
As many as you like. Connect them with a level change for better game flow, though.

No custom MODs?

Pfft. I'm out.
You do understand a custom mod with any coding changes would give one a very big advantage over people with no coding skills. Otherwise, there's really no need for minimod format in a compo where only the puzzle element plays the main role.

Explain more about the problem, also, .bsp files aren't directly modifiable - you'll want to either provide us with a .rmf/.map file of the map (the 'source' file of maps, editable with Hammer or any other mapping utility and compilable to a playable .bsp), or find someone devoted enough to remake the whole map for you to fix that bug.

You look like a fairly advanced and creative mapper judging from your earlier stuff, so please, utilize some of that creativity in removing & replacing those crates spammed everywhere! All facilities, industrial or scientifical, have designated storage rooms for crates and stuff, so it definitely makes absolutely no sense seeing them scattered all over the area. :P
Go for pipes, vents, gadgets, gratings and other stuff you'd normally see in a place like that.

Apart from that - looking good so far. Interior's lacking detail, though that's no problem for a beta map. Keep it up, looking forward to more. ;)

So google's expanding. T'was a matter of time anyway and I'm more-or-less for it.
The browser seems quite decent, though not enough for me to stop using Opera. Of course, I'll give it a more decent shot when beta stages are left.

As for the whole IE vs. Opera/FF thing, picture this: If you've been force-fed shit (IE) since the day you were born like 10 years straight, it's quite natural to find switching over to normal food (Opera/FF) hard/inconvenient. Hell, most people probably wouldn't even bother and keep on consuming shit just because they're used to it. I too found FF/Opera awkward at first with all that tabbed browsing, proper page rendering etc., but soon grew over it and never looked back since.

What I'm trying to say to all you IE folks: If browsing the web peroperly is at least somewhat important to you, give the alternatives a try before going on about how IE is better. Not the usual "I switched to FF for an hour and ran back to IE afterwards crying about how confused it got me", but a day, or even better a week. If you still feel like IE after that, it's actually personal prefference. If not - congrats, you've finished your MS shit diet you've been having since Win 95.
