you can pretty much pay for them at the same time, its a pretty painless process.

buy CD key from steam store, register CD key in steam, auto-download, auto-update, repeat for other games

Order a computer from AP-PC.

do you know why?

because your getting close to selfbuilt prices with a slight warrenty, and quality assembly.

and because thats the label I sell PC/notebooks to my old school and friends under

in Bad maps, why are they played?! Post #160623
WCdude, that post made Captain Obvious proud.

seems the french are worse then the americans, but were pretty bad. eg. friday I was at the nearest Gaming cafe (lined with computers, goth's in black lit back corner, n00bs playing CS maps, etc...

So I go to the first open PC and start playing CS. the only server that had people in it was playing a map that was 2 buildings textured with labfloorX separated by a deep (and as sqaure as you can get I must say) casm, weapons littered the spawn points, n00b fests resulted.

so next time I go there Im bringing every good CS map from TWHL to have my friend who works there upload them and start up a server with them on it, while I go around and pull the ethernet cord out of all the nub's computers who were currently hosting crappy servers.

and they will be pwnd. because they can't figure out a normal map

Satch, I think those statistics are more a representaion of the Los Angeles area then anything else. take my school for example, for all intensive purposes its a 100% graduation rate. pretty anyone whos ever touched the school graduates from some highschool. and our states drop out rate is menial, like a 5% average if you take the rates of the suburbs and the high drop outs of the inner cities

from that pic I can make a few recomendations:

-use the NULL texture in the ZHLT.wad
-try to keep the stuff aligned to the grid a bit better, it will save you time later.
-when it comes to textureing the thing your going to have to find some textures to fit the many height variations

ya, TWHL is good. i've seen a few other very loose forums in my time though. take HardwareAsylum.com for example, they have good mod's and a porn section, how can you have a better forum then that, thats not TWHL that is.

wolf-kain wouldn't happen to be a middleaged black man living with his mom in Alaska who built a mech that fell over and that he tried to sell on ebay for a rediculously high price for the lawn sculpture it ended up being, would he?

and on that note, anyone feel like going to the HIT forums and try to be perfect citizens while filling up their forums with posts so fast that they get confuesed when they try to decide to Ban us for reviving?

about this hs6_e I just began on. I steped back and thought of where the Idea for it really developed from.

It was a blend of 2 parts of Fear and a part of Minerva (I've played alot of F.E.A.R. over the last month and have many fond memories of Minerva.). Specificly the part in Fear where you fall through some bad flooring into the buildings basement and have to get back up.

I won't drop all the awsome details, but think of it like the ultimate Build a Machine Comp entry + That part in Minerva with the music. except this time the music is composed by me.

*M_Gargantua scuries off to make the end of HS very memorable

Edit:
O muzzle, how do you think the copying of the AR code for the mini-14 is going to go, and pepper, how are you doing with the UVskinning of it?

and im wondering since im making a BG song for my part if you could look at the ambient_fmodstream entity from spirit to see how it plays Mp3 files so I don't have to put it all into big ole' wav format

in .mpeg dvd burning - quick way? Post #159252
no way for faster encoding besides getting a faster proccessor.

but what im comfused about is, how you are recording in 2048. that can't be the res of it. I use Hauppauge AMcap to capture my stuff, and it only lets me record at up too 720x480. and at that resolution my processor can't keep up and the video gets really blurry at a few points as frames got missed. plus it ends up at about 15Gb in AVI format before encoding, which I do with InterVideo WinDVD, which I got with my DVD drive.

saco, if the area in screeny 6 needs the darkness for a particular reason, then keep it, if not, lighten it up.

the wires in screen 1 need some sag to them or they won't look right.

$300,000 would last me three, maybe four years if I were to make it one year. its alot of money by most american standards.

profesional gaming won't have the retirey syndrome if its run right. If the pro gaming leauge company sets up a pention they would be fine. and, good gamers all tend to be geeks, and geekdom means that they have some computer experience. many of them might end up working as consultants for the gaming companies, or a beta testers, or some other menial job in the gaming industry.

in Abandoning a map, have you done it? Post #159160
I've dropped plenty of maps. most of which from when I started mapping.

here's a perfect example of what I though was my greatest achivement years back http://www.twhl.co.za/mapvault_map.php?id=3658

it came before I knew of Textlights, and was started even before I knew of TWHL. I have quite a few more like it sitting around. dozens of maps infact. leaving maps is just something most mappers end up doing.

I think my HS maps, and the HLDM map im making for muzzles compo will be the first maps I ever release. at least, besides the example map and the build a machine compo map.
