if no origin brush is there, then the entity will use the 0,0,0 point in your map to rotate.

i'd still like to see the site paying more homage to mapping rather than CS or HL2 for that matter

No, you may, but i don't - all we need is the 3 mods to remove all crap useless posts - after a while, people will get the message - that this forum is not a forum but an on going tutorial ;)

How about a new forum board similar to Anomalous Materials at the VERC?

There is a lot of experience to be shared among all the members.

The only thing that's needed is some modding work to keep the forum as almost a tutorial where every single post has complete relevance to the subject.

This might be off topic - but i think we should have a mapping board - with different ideas and concepts on mapping

it could - if you use the right tools - that plugin chacks for invalid brushwork - it works, and i did have a teapot on my map once ;) i won't post it for obvious reasons (t3h vis time will destroy me)

The Illuminati
Freemasonary
Religions (all of them)
Political views of any kind

When picking a mod team always pick someone who's maybe slightly better than you -

That way, you don't need to worry about getting them up to standard with the rest of the team -

ideally your mod should not have more than 5/7 mappers working together - you can have more of course depending on the mod size and leadership

Hmm.. that seems to be the average age of mappers these days.

that at least gives an indication of just how much violence you can get away with in your maps

Look you can get everything off steam, (with time) -

And whatever people here say about steam to you - ignore - it does not concern you, you don't map ( yet ;) )

or if you want, i can just give you the thing tomorrow... that is, if you have my issues ;)

no - but some entities can be set up to fake d_lights in spirit - and from a mapper's point of view - that tut. is useless, if you don't have the sdk and know nothing about C++

in null texture Post #19317
sky is a brush in maps, not a brush in game and does not count towards wpoly - its drawn like a sprite (sort of) so it hits the fps - not the polygons.

and the subdiv. size is 240, so its sort of silly making walls just 200 - when you have another 40 units to spare

... so if you have a 256 high wall, and reduce it to 240, your r_speeds will be reduced by half
