environment lights up the whole map, and just a light, lights up a part of the map,

real life example:

Environment_light ---> The Sky!
Light ---------------> The Lightbulb! ;)

Happens to me when the environment light is'nt set up right, make sure the pitch is -90, or for better shadows use -45

Actually I kept all of HS stuff in seperate folders, and so the virus only corrupted some other folders. Most of my stuff is gone, but nothing for HS thank god! :D

Saco, you should blur the edges of the scientist, and garg, and perhaps use the smudge tool at the bottom to make flames coming up in front of them! Just a thought. :glad:

No, no, no... I got them in my compo 13 entry.

In the models flags, there should be a flag, 'No Yellow blobs' or something like that. Check it.

Make sure you have the latest fgd file.

I'm using the spirit dlls and fgd, so not sure about the original fgd file or whatnot.

The texture could do with some decoration... like a stripe all the way along or something. It's some very nice brushwork, but the texturing is poor.

Guys.. stop saying the texturing sucks!! I hve'nt even attempted to texturize it yet. I want to get all the brush work done in the hallway first. Then I will texture it!..

And ya, it looks alright now that I look at thew shadow closer.

um, btw theres only two textures in the map.. lol

I used the 'White' texture for everything, but the custom light textures.. lol

Anyways, I turned the pipes into a func_illusionary, and changed the white texture to a different texture so that theres not just a solid color, and it worked out very well. (See pic below)

Thanks again for everyones help.
only minor problem is, where the arrow is pointed, its a bit darker, but it's hardly noticable.

For those of you who just seen my last problem that I just fixed, well, heres an addon.

So your past the lighthouse, and lasers. Your in the elevator, going down.

The elevator doors open. in front of you is another high tech looking hallway.. only problem is...

that little brush, (the button) was what was causing the problem, I deleted it, and it ran fine.. weird eh. :D

haha, thanks.. lol, actually, its for a new map I'm working on, I made a sweet ass lighthouse and such, blah blah, and then I got an elevator where the changelevel takes place.

So now your in the next level, starting in the elevator.

The elevators complete, then I tried adding a rotating emergency light in it consisting of 3 func_rotating.
Tried to compile, and I got the error.
So I deleted it, but I still get the error, and now I can't fix it.

Habboi, no, it's just the very beginning of a level, the inside of an elevator, so you could imagine how small it is.

Hunter, thats not it either, checked all the textures, but non start with '!'

Saco, bad news, I got a virus, that wiped out most of my maps and harddrive.. I just got my PC back today from getting fixed.. now when I go to compile maps, I get a error message.. it pisses me off! :furious:

each human grunt has 4 different sub-models in it saco, so, that won't work. lol. :D

And Daubster, does'nt work either, the face mask has to be sloppsided in a wierd way.. hard to explain.. I can leave the faces as is though..

but heres a thought, do you guys want black paint crossing their faces? it would look wicked if so.. kinda like navy seals.. well??

Right now, I'm doing something big with these guys, I'm taking skinning to the extra mile!! you guys better be happy with the finished guys!!
