Stan SB - Sonic Colours
One of the more uplifting songs I've heard in a good while.

Because with CGI you can create people who look exactly how you want instead of finding people who fit the bill and dressing them up.
You have total control.

For the textures, the Wadfather should be your one-stop resource if you can't make your own:

For Alma, someone ported the model from FEAR as a Garry's Mod prop. It does not have animations because it is a ragdoll, but it is better than nothing: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=17877
^This is a source model. You will have to port it to Goldsrc yourself.

The two above I just remembered off the top of my head. For the truck; there are tons of props out there. They aren't hard to find.

Facinating, to say the least.
I just wonder what kind of processing power it takes to render something like that.

I'd like to see it used in movies, but no so much in games.

Heard about this last December. Its not fake, its just Korea.

Basically Condition Zero deathmatch with a bunch of new weapons and player models, from what gameplay videos tell me. Search Youtube for "cso nelva" and you'll find 3 videos showcasing the new weapons.

The game was supposedly made to cater specifically to the Korean market because computers are still fairly low end and expensive there, which is also one reason why a lot of MMOs look piss ugly.

In the meantime, there's Counter Struck.

Looked fine to me. The contrast of the world and sky makes things easy enough to see.
It looks like it would feel great atmospherically, but seriously, that's really blocky for a moutain map. I know its a KZ, but every jumping pad doesn't need to be a box.

Bump. August isn't over yet.
Been messing around with a versatile explorer shell replacement called Aston. Everything on the desktop and start menu is highly configurable. Hard to explain, but a fascinating application to say the least. Easy on the resources too, using no more than the standard explorer. That's a new start menu, too. There's no default windows stuff here.

Maybe its because we're from two different countries, but I've only been to one place that I know of that serves steaks with onions. I'm defnitely not about to get into an argument with a chef, though.
Either way, I usually do my own steaks :P

Also, Hotdog, if you've never tried a bleeding steak(not necessarily rare), you have to try it. Contrary to popular belief, its not any less healthy than eating a well done cut, and the taste is radically different. Its not like chicken; The bacteria is all on the outside.

Rounds have to end for the map to change. TF2 doesn't switch maps when the time runs out, but rather, when the round ends after time runs out.

in Map VERY BEGINNER Post #254400
Well it depends on what you're trying to do. You don't need code or models to make something as simple as a CS map.
If you want to use models for props, the way you use them is different for most games, so again, we'll need to know what you're mapping for.

Unless you're trying to make a mod with new weapons/enemies/etc, you don't need to code.

in A Heavy Update Post #254158
Heavy has some hard achievements...But most come from just playing for 2 hours. I saw someone with the sandwich already >_>
Again: bot farming
I got the 22 for KGB in about 20 minutes.

Arena pretty much blows IMO. It really isn't very fun at all, and makes too many classes useless because of the map layouts and sheer nature of the gameplay. But I don't like the idea of competitive TF2 to begin with. I like the game to just be fun, not all about being the best. To each his own, though. I'll just stay out of arena servers.

Faster kritzkrieg is nice. I thought it was fine before, but now people might pick it up and actually learn how to use it properly because god save me if I see another person that treats it like an uber.

Not feeling Natascha too much. It might be early to make this call, but after playing Arena, payload on offense and defense, and 2fort with it, I just think the gun is just bad. Speaking very generally, its not effective at killing by your lonesome, but also not effective at slowing people down enough, or long enough, for teammates to kill them. But its also borderline spammy, so the slow effect can't be improved without turning it into a spam gun that nobody likes.
Still would have prefered an alternate weapon that dishes out the same amount of damage in a different way(again with the slug gun).

I still think the idea that its a sandwich of all things is incredibly stupid, but it plays great ingame regardless. I like being able to heal myself-- I hate that I'm healing myself with a damn sandwich.
Edit: Strike that. Its nigh impossibly to kill a heavy with afterburn now, and 240 hp per 8 seconds makes him the generally the fastest healer in the game, even with medkits on the map for others. Especially on sudden death.

I like everything about the KGB. Nothing more to say on that except that they're ridiculously big. Lawl.

First impresions, at least. I try not to be too much of a whiner.
EDIT: Blast, a long post. Sorry.

Nobody would ever play if it was private. There aren't enough members here to keep it populated 24/7, let alone enough members who play CSS. Bots don't help population, either. I tried it a few times, and it usually got worse.

Its not all about the connection either. Running a consistant dedicated server means that your machine can very rarely be under load, because the mroe stress your machine is under, the worse your clients' connections will be. Setting your server to high priority should keep things in check, but if you have a low/mid range computer, simply running the server might affect performance of the rest of your PC.

I probably made it sound worse than it can really be. I ran a few dedicated servers adding up to a grand total of around 5 years before co-owing a NuclearFallout server and never had many problems. Its just something to be aware of.

A 12-player, 6-month HLDM server with Nuclear Fallout will run you $163.75. from my experience, Nuclearfallout is a good host with plenty of support and easy maintenance.
www.nuclearfallout.net

But if you can maintain one on your own machine, I'd say its always better to just go with a dedicated server.

Carl's Jr. actually bought out Hardee's many years ago, but still used the Hardee's name in the southeast where it originated. Before it was bought out, it was more of KFC-type restaraunt if I remember correctly.
