lawl viruses that attack an antivirus program? This is new to me

I use avast! in combination with comodo firewall. Both free. They love each other, I didn't have problems with viruses for a long time now( well actually I never really had serious problems, but when I had AVG(yes, I had AVG for 2 years before switching to avast!), it was reporting viruses now and then, it's true that I had a sucky combination, AVG+Ashampoo Firewall).

What is it with people using rubbish antivirus programs?
Honestly, we don't have money. At least me, to spend every year on an antivirus license. I use avast too. I'd go for BitDefender if I had enough money...

Jesus Tito, never heard of Knoppix? Bootable easy-to-use Linux distro on a CD, pop it in, back your files up to CD, format the hard drive, no files lost. I've used it twice for these situations.
I used paragon HDD manager in the past, I think I still have one of them recovery disks around here... I installed it before re-partitioning my hdd, when I bought a new HDD, and from mistake I fucked up 2 partitions. They where virtually there, but accessible and if something was written on them, I was screwed. Immediately popped up the recovery disk, and my partitions where restored :D.

TJB, make a virus scan. Defragment all of your drives. Install a registry scan&repair software and windows optimizing tools to detect and resolve possible errors. Manage the startup programs.
If this fails, a windows reinstall is the best option.

I don't think it's hardware related if you have the recommended specifications(and I do believe you have them). From what google says, at the beginning of 2009 multicore rendering was added to TF2. Well, maybe it's software related.
Or you can just try setting the affinity of tf2 to only one core and see what happens.

So perhaps somebody can put the rules around here to make it more official?
What about the other source project, is that one abandoned?
If not, there should be a list with the mappers who already made the maps. Me being one of them.

Because Americans are fat rich bastards with 4000$ PCs who only play CoD4:MW2, Crysis, DIRT2 and games like this. HL1 is so old for them that if you ask them if they heard about "Half-Life" they'll tell you:
Half-life is the period of time it takes for a substance undergoing decay to decrease by half. The name originally was used to describe a characteristic of unstable atoms (radioactive decay), but may apply to any quantity which follows a set-rate decay.
The original term, dating to 1907, was "half-life period", which was later shortened to "half-life" sometime in the early 1950s.
Of course, most of them will probably just say the game sucks at graphics, I repeat, being fat rich bastards that have no respect for old games that where glorious for their times, completely proving faggotry and forgeting about the feeling of nostalgia.

Sorry, I'm a little angry here. FUCKING ED, THAT SITE SHOULD BE BANNED, I FUCKING LANDED ON THE OFFENDED PAGE BY MISTAKE.

Why would you want the scheduler to compile maps from different profiles? I mean, you're working on one project at a time.
Bot everybody is working with one project at a time, especially when I leave home and I would like to compile several maps in a row, and apply different settings to them.

I think it should be useful if you added a scheduled compilation feature.
Of course, the scheduler should include options such as different profiles for each map as the user likes.

:x F***ING STOP POSTING USELESS ....sees admin

I told you very clearly what you should do. I think a week has passed. Have you read a lot of tutorials ? We want to see your practice maps, but don't spam post room-sized maps.
One day you want to do something, the other day you change your mind.
You just have to know your limits. Trust me, as you are now you're not capable of making a modification for Half-Life. I don't want to discourage you.
Of course you can start it, but you will never finish it. Or if you do, some maps will be so bad that nobody will want to play your maps. You are going to hit difficult compiling problems that, for an inexperienced mapper, will seem to be impossible to resolve. And the feeling of deception will cover you and the enthusiasm will leave...
There is no point in starting a massive project. At least at your age( I'm guessing you're somewhere between 12-14). At that age your motivation can disappear as easy as it appeared.
I strongly recommend you to start practicing and leaving these thoughts for later. make singleplayer maps. But not an intire mod. Yet.

I hope you will consider my advices.

Well, actually playing any game is a waste of time. It doesn't produce anything. But it's fun.
So you shouldn't say MMO's are a waste of time, you just don't like it :).

I have to be honest and to recognize that everybody who asks me what genres of games I play I say "everything except MMO's, I hate them". Lately I discovered I did say that only because my pride, but it's not like that. I think I would enjoy playing WoW, but I just like to keep myself away from the MMO's. Yes, they're addictive. It can get too dangerous when you end up in the hospital, and the nurse asks you if you're ok and you answer "Yeah sure, I'll just use my heal spell". But I don't want to end up one day like this guy.

Maybe in the future I will play MMO's, but just at a casual level. The most RPG-like closest game I play is League of Legends, but I consider it an RTS with a few elements of RPG(mostly because it's level-based). I like it very much.

1. Go outside and play some football or something, or just for a walk so you're not so bored anymore.
2. Come in the house. Eat, drink, take a shower....
3. Go to the computer. Open your browser. Go to twhl, at the tutorials section. Ignore the forums. The forums don't exist to you in this period. The forums are deleted, they don't exist.
4. Read carefully, and learn from the tutorials.
5. Try making experiments with that knowledge in hammer.
6. Do this for 1-2 weeks.
7. Try making a complete map, with beautiful architecture, lighting, entities and that sort of stuff.
8. Upload the map. Receive feedback. See what's wrong.
9. Try correcting your map after those feedbacks.
10. Ask again about your mod.

I think it should be easy...

Yesterday I got bored and began making a rocket. Fuel? Matches(actually I sat down and cleaned off that substance off the matches, it was a pain in the ass, but hey, I was bored!). I made some long tubes from aluminum foil. At take off, it made the effects of a firework, and it burned holes through my pants.

Next time I get bored I'll make some hydrogen from water electrolysis and make balloon bombs. Oh, and inspiring oxygen to get high =))
