Well, I think that was the problem. I got scared there's something wrong with my credit card. It seems I just missed the promotion.
No problem. I'm going to humiliate myself and implore valve in an email to let me buy it at the promotion price. Too bad I can't really do this :) (but I think if I'd be good enough, I'd break their hearts :D).

What happened ? 20 minutes I bought it as a gift for a friend and now it rejects me ?! :(

Sometimes I stay and I'm thinking and thinking... it's obvious that we can tell which game is shit and which is not, but I can't explain myself how you can judge a game like crysis. Now it's a normal game, but back in 2007 it was kinda revolutionary. You don't treat the game like this, think of half-life1.
Or, think of doom2. Nowadays it's lame , without a story and totally arcade style. But I still enjoy it at times.
This week I played like crazy doom2 on multiplayer(with zDaemon), and Heretic with an optimized graphics engine ( lighting, high-res textures and dynamic lighting). When my appetite for this oldies but goldies is over (because it comes and comes again :D), playing Crysis or another modern game like hl2 will give me beautiful visual feelings.
You just need to balance your game diet. It's just like food. Don't eat the same type of food everyday.

Thank you for your opinions. Yes it was long, but I read it all. I think I;m going to stay on C++ for now, until I get sufficiently skilled to learn other programming languages. My program will be fun to develop as I learn new things in c++.

C++ is a rubbish language, if I were you I'd start learning plain C or upgrade to a managed language such as C# or maybe a scripting language. And don't listen to potatis, .NET is great and nobody gives a rat's ass about *nix.
That's too rough :\ . Or maybe you're sarcastic :nya:
Also, there is sourceforge, a lot of servers are linux based, there are lots of linux distros... I don't think unix systems are that shitty :\ .

Isn't there a simplified method to do this ? Like create the buttons in a graphic style and assign different lines of code to each of them ?

Luck you Tito, I was editing my message.

As I was saying, scientists are trying to do all way to fast and this is bad. We haven't conquered our Solar Sytem yet and we want to travel to other galaxies. Facepalm, actualy the single celestial object that has been walked by man is the moon.

Ok let's put it simple. It's like you're forced by somebody to hammer a nail into your head, in the middle. Chances are the nail won't hit the brain, but those chances are small. The other chance, hitting the brain and provoking instant death are translated as RISKS. So yes, we're all force to take part at this experiment, we either survive or we either face the risks.

How do you propose we develop such technologies if we don't... develop them...?
I think our top priority is avoiding risks of damaging our only(yet) home that keeps us alive. Look, the problem is scientists don't have patience. We could have built this LHC on Mars(maybe 10 generations away from us). Sounds stupid ? Who the hell gives those scientists the right of risking our environment ?

It's not about traveling to distant galaxies, it's about moving space. Something like warp-drive.

Nostradamus predicted the future until 3000 an I don't know how much after that, but he also says dangerous things about this experiment.
Let's face it : we don't know what kind of power Nostradamus had, but everything he said turned out to be true.

If you stay and think for a while, you can guess all this naughty playing with unknown facts and science that's not well understood is like a child that plays with matches in a garage with a gasoline wet floor.
I hope the higgs particles will destroy LHC once and for all :D. And then humanity can focus on space traveling which is much more important in our times than playing with dangerous technologies.

You were right, I made a logic mistake, but in another if statement.

[EDIT] Well, I'm finished ! I made a word inventor !

Link on my blog and download link

Sorry it's in romanian, but all you have to do is type in the number of characters. The optimal number is between 7-10. For each character it takes 900 miliseconds + 500 miliseconds if the third character after the last vowel is a consonant and it has to make a random vowel.
Those words have no meaning, but it's fun :D

I don't know why but I'm not entertained anymore by these games. From my point of view, they're meant to be 2D.

For example, I loved Caesar3, so it was natural that I tried Caesar4. I uninstalled it after 30 minutes of play. That's the same thing with Simcitty4 ( I didn't play too much SC3 , but I played lots of SC2000).
I think this game is just another bullshit simulator. Oh well, to early to say this though. But I'll read a review some day.

I use windows Xp, Avast! Antivirus and Comodo Firewall. I don't have problems.

The answer to all piracy problems is free software. Linux&OpenSource. Free. It's well below a windows platform functionality, but it evolves slowly and and evidence for this is source-forge and the fact that GIMP( and even better, GimpShop) replicates a $699 graphics program ( actual price for ps cs4), for free.
I don't use linux yet, because I have only one computer at my home. But I'm sure I'll try it in the future. Don't tell me it's not useful, OS-es like linux are very used. TWHL uses FreeBSD :P

Heard of 2girls 1 cup ? Ok, I admit I didn't watch that too till' the end. But it's not that I was disgusted. I was just horrified with what a human can do.
Now I accidentally discovered this :

WTF BBQ LOL, BTW GTFO -mod

Passing over the murdering footage and what could that human victim felt, what kind of people are these ? It's just incredible, their blood vessels are full of violet cold blood of crime....
Sorry, I just don't have the words... yes my soul is kind of "touchable". It's...horrible.
Maybe you'll ask me how can I watch then a horror movie ? Because when I watch it, I always have this in my mind : it's pure fiction, and somebody filmed it.

Zombies are created via viral, bacterial, or parasitical infection, usually started after a government-funded research company goes too far.
That, again, is something you learn from video games. Has this been prooved scientifically on humans ? The human race is getting old, though I don't see mutants around us. When an untreated viral\bacterial infection occurs, people die.
[EDIT] I'm not qualified to answer like this. For better information, satchmo' should kick my\your ass with some information.
