The mod has a great community supporting it. So they probably fix that, and remeber its just the hl engine.

I just read in the forums of Spirit that there is also reflective water and a motionblur effect.

You can get Spirit here:

http://spirit.valve-erc.com/

But remember that Spirit uses a advanced entinity system, You can move things with entinity's, make advanced particle systems, and a lot more.
One fella created working tanks wiht rotating turrets and collision system. And the best thing: you can send the tank anywhere you like!!

Are you sure you triggered it right? Try comparing your entinity set-up wiht the example map's one. It might give you a solution to your problem.

It does cover the leaks, but it also will increase your r_speeds a lot. Thats why you put patches of sky in places you want to be able to look at a sky.

Try putting it in the map wiht a cycler and put a clip brush wihtin the model to make it solid.

Planes rock! And the Stuka 87 was used in the Spanish civilian war.
Posted 19 years ago2005-01-23 17:09:05 UTC
in Changing avatar Post #85323
The Stuka is developed by the germans to surve as a dive bomber-semi fighter. When they discovered The Stuka 87 needed escort fighter the developed the me-110. Soon this escort fighter needed his own escort to stay alive. The big brother of the Stuke 87 is the 88. A giant bomber whom was powerfull and deadly in big pacts.

you confuse it wiht Italy because Hitler tested The s-87 there in the civial war. But it might have been in spain, im not sure.

And i really think it was called Yak 7th.

Its all about the planes!

On the 1 side we have the Messerschmit and the Focke Wulf and on the 'commie' side we have the Yak, Sturmovik, and the La. The La had a big advantages over the germans that it could reach higher speeds on any altitude. They lured the waiting messerschmit's from the higher alltitudes and when they came low enough they struk in deadly packs. Many german pilots where killed by this technique. But if a la-5 went to high it was doomed to be taken down by the messerschmits whom where supperior on that hight.

That is the most useless answer ever to such a question.

A sky in Half-Life consists of six .tga files wiht a prefix in the name for the position:
the top is up_namesky
the botton is dn_namesky
etc.

You can select the sky you want in the map properties tab. Here is a lost wiht all the skynames and the tutorial about the subject at The Whole Half-Life.

http://www.twhl.co.za/tutorial.php?id=6

Next time do a search wihtin the tutorials on this subject.

Im not going to use those animations Wcdude. Im planning on doing the animating and texturing in the next 2 weeks. But i cant say how good the texture will look.

The animation will be completely different because the knife is hugh compared to others knifes i have seen.

Softimage is legally free and it's got loads of HL/2 tools designed right into the framework (ie smd export.)

As far as i know the perspective in videogames is 90 degree, in real life its close to 170-180 degree.
So thats why things in game look different from real life. You cant make something look exactly the same.
