yes. That's exactly what you do!
Just remember to keep the general shape of the block smaller than the car itself.
Might take some experimenting.
Good luck

Don't use func walls. Make regular world brushes in the general shape of the car. Use the black texture and scale it to about 4 so you dont up the poly count. Then you can just use a clip brush (world brush textured with clip) around that to keep the player from walking into it.

So bulletts will hit the regular brush, they'll pass through the clip brush, but you won't be able to walk through it

Idk if that'll solve the blinking problem...

As for the map intro thing, that's done with cameras. Let me go find that turotial. It's around here somewhere.
edit
after a quick search, i found it!

http://twhl.co.za/forums.php?thread=14306

That's the thread.

Basically you just make trigger_cameras and place them around the map. you name them cam1... cam2... cam3... they'll be triggered in that order.

Make sure to set the angles!

Solves all your compiling problems :)
And it makes for easy use of advanced compiling functions

Shame you don't have a Source version as I have a map that will never see the light of day and it's one of my best.
After what happened to me in this competetion from the source engine.... I'm gonna give it a break for a little while.

Hey i just thought of a cool idea..
Would it be possible to implement a history, or a recent maps section of sorts?
Like instead of browing through all those valve maps just to get to the one i want. If i browse there once, it'll go to my recents, so i can just go there and click it.

Maybe have a max of about 8 maps there?
It just seems like a little user-friendly thing that could help immensly when developing and running the same map(s) over and over.
Btw the search is amazing.

I didnt work on mine at all yesterday. My gf came over and we went golfing and made dinner and watched Super Bad while drinking Captain Morgan and Ginger Ale. And stuff... And today i'm going to Guitar center to get a new Tube Amp. I'll be playing with that all night. I may or may not get to mapping today >.<
Edit-----
Bought that amp and it's sexy as hell. not going into details, but i didnt get any mapping done, and it's going to be a struggle to even release this on time :( 9 days left ugh!

You can't toggle a ilghts.rad texture light by simple toggling the brush it's applied to. For dynamic texture lights you need to do what Captain said: Use the Info_textlights entity.

If all else fails, just use a point light underneath the texture. You won't even know.

I Made edits to the Wiki's on both entities.
It's the last entry (to date) on the bottom lists.
I wonder if this naming glitch pertains to other entities as well: such as func_doors, env_sprites. ect ect.

I dont think many people go around naming entities by their class designations, but still. I think it may be worth a test.

What if you used a game_counter instead? Lemme dig up the thread. h/o
Found it - http://twhl.co.za/forums.php?thread=15866

Quote from thread:
You can't have monsters targeting a multisource directly. Instead, have the headcrabs trigger a button or a trigger_relay which triggers the multisource. In other words, have something in between.

Had i known you werent using actual buttons for the multisource i would've quoted this earlier. This particular problem took a lot of effort to solve.

Also try loading your maps with "developer 2" It notifies you of what's being and when. Immensley usefull for troubleshooting problems like this.

Srry, if you want you can just send the map to me and have me deal with that crap. Don't get stuck on that one minute detail....

Did you try deleting all the entities and re-making them?

Really only have to do a To World And a To Entity for the buttons and Door.
Are the buttons set to Don't move? Is the reset -1? Everything spelled right?

I'm not questioning your mapping abilities with these dumb questions, but i just don't know all the details.

Use the compilator and it allows you to directly link to your .rad file so there's no mistakes!

Texlights have to be a LOT brighter than point lights. And if you just want a texture to appear lit up, try using an env_glow set to addive - FX 255
Place it in the middle of your texlighted brush

EDIT-
Are you running software mode or is that just a REALLY bad screenshot?
