...and as I typed my message I realized my copy of Hammer 3.x is broken.

I can make 'em in 4, though I can't promise cross-compatibility. And you'd have to retexture.

TOOK THE IDEAS FROM BUNGIE? HL came out before Halo, you do realize? And development was started on 2 once the original was released.

Halo isn't really bad, I just fail to see what's incredibly great about it. Sure, the graphics are nice, but what's with the story? Imo, it's just another generic Aliens vs. Humans FPS with a subpar story - and it's the storyline that really counts for me.

Argh, stop being spelling nazis, y'two. Even the best spellers screw up sometimes.

Things like hehe, alot, etc. are for the most part recognized forms of spelling their technically correct forms. They're usually considered correct spelling, afaik.

The guns in 1.6, the FA/MAS and Galil are only available in 1.6. Steam is going to be required for HL2 probably, so I'd suggest using it if you plan on playing CS:S/HL2.

Nothing, since sky textured brushes cannot be tied to entities. The most you'd see is an error in your compile log.

I think Source texlights are defined from within the vmts - there are some textures in-editor with a little sun flag on them, which I assume means they're illuminated.

Here are a few of the problems that popped up under this situation:

1. You may have errors in your compile, if not then,
2. Your pak0pak.pak file may be corrupted?
3. Maybe the wrong game version?
4. Wrong WC/Hammer version? Earlier versions of WC were particularly prone to this. Use WC 3.3 or Hammer!
5. Maybe another compile will make it go away, or not? And make sure you have the most up-to-date version of zoner's compiling tools....
6. You may have a bad model - like one from another mod or game, or you once installed a custom one? Or you may have a corrupted sprite or model?
7. Have you installed a patch recently? It might be bad....

You'd need to decompile your FCS file into a generic raw model format, like dxf, and then compile that using studiomdl into a model file.

Uhm, the reason GIF support is not enabled for av's is just that - animated support was left out since they were unwanted.

There's a studiomdl.exe included with the new SDK - Can you export as dxf from Maya? Studiomdl should be able to handle dxf files to output them as models.
