I disagree BrattyLord. I think this is a good example of how other games can by distributed. Dunno 'bout you, but playing FPS games all the time isn't exactly fun after a while...

Radiohead - There There (The Boney King of Nowhere)

In pitch dark, I go walking in your landscape
Broken branches, trip me as I speak
Just 'cos you feel it, doesn't mean it's there
Just 'cos you feel it, doesn't mean it's there

There's always a siren, singing you to shipwreck
(Don't reach out, don't reach out)
Steer away from these rocks, we'd be a walking disaster
(Don't reach out, don't reach out)
Just 'cos you feel it, doesn't mean it's there
(There's someone on your shoulder, there's someone on your shoulder)
Just 'cos you feel it, doesn't mean it's there
(There's someone on your shoulder, there's someone on your shoulder)

There there

Why so green and lonely, lonely, and lonely?
Heaven sent you to me, to me, to me.

We are accidents
Waiting, waiting to happen.

We are accidents
Waiting, waiting to happen.

One of my fav Radiohead songs.

I don't think Nintendo can do much with this though. Its the guys who own the Bond license who're gonna be pissed off.
GoldenEye freebies? You'll be lucky. I believe someone once summed up our position concerning the GoldenEye rights as "we couldn't even fart in the presence of the game without someone else's permission".
That's Rare's position concerning Goldeneye and anything related to it. :P

I dunno. Rare don't seem like a company that'd take legal action against a free mod. They're not money grabbing whores anyway. For the most part, they seem like a friendly, and insane bunch of people (judging from their website anyway). M$ on the other hand, which has the PD license...

If the Multplayer aspect of Perfect Dark: Source (they're releasing that bit first) plays as good as the original, I'm gonna be damn excited. :D

in Problem running map Post #141399
Fragmeister: No, that's not the case (the "progra~1" thing, that's just Windows shortening the name).

Your configuration is totally wrong. You've got the RMF directory in the same place as the map directory. Seperate them. Here's what happens in the compile:

1. The tools compile everything in the folder you've specified for RMF files.
2. The last process then copies the compilled BSP from that folder into the map folder of the game (in this case Condition Zero).

I advise that you check your configuration to prove me right (or completely wrong, of course. :P ). Take a screenshot of your configuration screen and link us to it.

The basic problem here, as Alex mentioned above is that you've done a very complex carving job, which has probably shattered brushes. I'd suggest deleting that entire section and not carving next time.

Elon's advice concerning func_wall is good too. However, func_wall is more suited for smaller detail (like chairs, lights, columns, etc). Do not func_wall major walls, floors, or anything like that.

Judging from some of the map screenies I saw, this mod looks fairly poor. Take a leaf out of BM:S and don't just copy the archetecture: improve on it, more than just using new textures.

Perfect Dark: Source anyone?

Some of the screenshots for this look stunning (Carrington Villa particularly), but some look, unfortunately, bad. Looking forward to this one though.

I didn't mind the remake of The Chocalate Factory. The film styling and the plot were more similar to the original Dahl story (and no singing, thank god). Love Burton's twisted/surreal worlds (Nightmare Before Christmas anyone)?

As for my fav film...I don't have one. I saw Adaptation recently, which was quite cool (its the "sequel" to Being John Malkovich).

Speaking of films, anyone hear the news on who the new Bond is gonna be? Personally, I think he looks retarded. Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan ftw!

That show followed the exact same path for every single freakin' episode. Here's what happens, in a nutshell:

1. Some creature in space sends some wussy fighters down, who get defeated by normal clothed Power Rangers
2. Same creature in space sends down more wussy fighters, plus a weird one which forces the Power Rangers to don stupid costumes
3. New fighter gets defeated, which forces the creature in space to, ahem, make it grow big
4. Power Rangers get the big robot out and kicks its arse (it always explodes, with sparks).

THE END.

Till the next day, anyway.

I suggest going for a decent high-end system. So, get a Socket 939 CPU (AMD64's are a good choice) at least a gig of RAM (can't go wrong with two gigs though) and a DX9 card to enjoy the shader effects in HL2.

in Discussion of Half-Life's Crowbar Post #139183
Half-Life was one of the first FPS games I played when I said "Whoa, look at these graphics!". When I played the original demo, I had a great 'ol time hitting the crowbar against walls (the noise was just hillarious) and messing around with corpses till they exploded. It's a very original weapon, one that's used as a proper melee weapon. Most games have melee weapons as a "second-option" thing, and they don't feel like real weapons.

Drums, guitar, vocalist (mostly backup) and I also dabble in bass guitar and very occasionally, piano.

Granted, the quality on this file is crap (recorded live) and the song isn't that fantastic either. We mostly play covers (QOTSA and Fooies mostly) but we do other stuff too.

No, you see, all action games suck arse, just like all action films suck arse. Comparing Doom to Half-Life (the first of each series) is really stupid. As for Doom 3 and Half-Life 2, you can't throw around extremly good graphics without a good game tied behind it, which is why HL2 pwns it.
