Jahzel you're right :) I'm so used to the firefox spell-checker that when i use IE at my school, if i dont see the red zig-zag line i assume i spelt things correctly.

I was never one for proper spelling anyhow. :pwned:
I'm an engineer, not a liberal arts major.
ANYWAY
What i find IRRITATING is getting used to the SDK hammer's autosaves, and then going back to HL1, experiencing a crash, and then realizing that there's no autosave.

And losing inspiration blows hardcore, and aligning slanted textures on more than 2 plains sucks.

Not to discourage you from Half-Life 1 mapping, but if you're planning to do advanced stuff such as cameras, it's easier to implement entities that already exist rather than coding yourself.
And i'm going to have to agree with Muzz, who originally agreed with me, therefore making me agree with myself on the point; you should move to source.

Well you could always use a multimanager to trigger a counter, then have the counter trigger an explosion.
you would not be able to 'see' the timer (unless you trigger buttons or suttin)
but it should work.

I know there's a glitch every 10 seconds with the second " 0 " but if i made it more accurate, it offsets every minute by one second. I have to look into it more. :)

This took me a good 3-4 hours to make, debug, and release.

This kinda uses TJB's idea, but i started making this before i actually read his post. Mine uses lasers instead of func_wall toggles. My other idea was to make a bunch of func_walls, and just use env_renders to mess with them.

You can basically steal my entity setup, rename everything, and make it into a func_wall_toggle-based setup.

And that's a pain in the ass.
And i never knew macs support right clicking mice.
I did know about the 2 finger tap. As my girlfriend has a macbook.
It's cool that you can scroll down pages by moving 2 fingers down the pad at once.
But i think the price of macs are just damn steep if you're going for gaming.
I'd get an asus, but get an NVIDIA card in it. The ati cards' drivers have hardware glitches with the older models. My bud is flipping a shit over it now.

Ok so this is super complicated.. And it doesn't stop yet, But i am almost done with the minute digit. I just completed the second and tens-second digit, and i'm 90% done now. I'll release the map before i get it to top and restart because i have other stuff to attend to today. Expect it in another 45min - hour since this post. (1:15PM-EST)

Well, a vehicle's front should always be placed facing the westward (left) direction. The middle of the origin brush is the middle of the vehicle when tied to the same entity. Make sure the path_corner or path_track you set for the spawn position is above the ground enough to be in the center of the vehicle's origin brush.

and if you hit Alt + Print Screen, it takes a screen shot of the active window only. so you don't have to deal with the start menu clutter. Even if the window is maximized.

You do get a bit of the top of the menu. But it's easily deletable.

The easiest way to make a clock, is to make something so that the machine doesn't know what it's doing.

Like the machine only turns dials every second, it's up to the viewer to decode the signals it produces.

Use that to open the pak in your half life directory. Then you can export to the half life folder and have all the files necessary.

That really set's the mood. Excellent job Rimrook. Lighting under the walkways is superb as well! Now is there a glitch with the fan rotation or is that just quicktime screwing with me?

The models also fit perfectly in the environment, though i would've liked to get a better glimpse at the health charger. :hammer:

Have you tried tweaking the placements of the lights?
Or modifying the values of the lights in the .rad file? (I'm assuming a mapper of your stature is implementing texture-lighting)
I'd also give Zoner's tools another shot.
Or.. run rad on extra..
Vis on Full...

And does your Graphics card have one of those nifty display adjusters that you can fiddle around with?

They're usually not closed unless Pengi comes with his truck of fail, or strider and/or daub deems the creator incredibly stupid.
Which you are not.
