What? Why can't you post questions on the forums? That's one of the main reasons they're there...

Okay, I'll admit I know little or nothing about cars, but it kind of LOOKS like a ricemobile, for lack of a better term. I don't think you could drive something like this around without somebody laughing at you.
d> what about a stock version, normal rims/tires, normal suspension, normal paintjob?
Now that's something I could use!

in Shadows for models Post #176555
I was putting some tree models in a map of mine recently, and it crossed my mind how models won't have shadows.

So I was wondering, Is there any way to make shadows appear without using normal brushes? I tried making a func_wall and setting it to be invisible, and then putting the ZHLT Lightflags to make it opaque, but that didn't do anything. Any ideas?

I'd only use RandMap if you're really desperate. All it does is generate blocky maps with misaligned textures and a bunch of errors. There are plenty of good mods out there already, you shouldn't have to resort to playing crap like that for FUN. :)

Wow, this looks really good. Very nice lighting, detail, textures... everything from what I can see. It looks like you did a really good job making it look like a run down building. It almost looks like Source.

There was a thread about this recently. I think you type the name of the monster in the "kill target" field of whatever entity you're using to trigger its death. This is assuming you aren't asking a question like people did 7 years ago.

Ok... I'm having quite a bit of trouble understanding all of this. I'm not sure I get exactly what you're saying, so maybe I'll just wait for somebody who knows more about the error to come along and help. I think I used to have the same error you're getting, but I can't really remember how I fixed it.

I think that happens when you auto-run the map? Just luanch it manually. Then again, maybe I'm wrong about that. Tell me when the error occurs.

The only reason I like compressed air more is because I don't have to take the keyboard all apart. Besides, I can blow trash to the back of my desk with it!

Dust-Off! I use it every week on my keyboard, and it gets most of the gunk out. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's just compressed air.

in PreFabs...Colors? Post #174550
Don't know about purple and black (mine turn white), but some of the prefabs aren't textured already, so you have to apply them yourself. If I remember correctly though, that couch has two versions. One is in "Old Suff", it doesn't have a texure on it. You should get the one that's in "Random Objects".

Edit: Wait, now that I think of it, it sort of sounds like you might have "3D Filled Polygons" on in the view menu... This might not be the case though.

It's called func_mansterclip, It's a brush based entity and it works just like a clip brush does just for monsters. You have to check the MonsterClip flag on the monsters you want to be effected by it.

Couldn't it be some webcam type thing on the end of the brush? Then they could have used some kind of touch screen to "eject" the color onto. Then again, I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

Meh, the theme of the map really limits creativity, in my opinion. There's not a whole lot new you can do, with that kind of archetecture. You're basically just stuck with the underground base theme...

I just got this free program for stop-motion called MonkeyJam. I haven't had the chance to actually try it out, but it was recommended on several stop-motion sites sites.

Those are both awesome movies, and I love stop motion, but what exactly is this "something really good" that you're looking for? Are you talking about camera equipment, software, props, what? Also, don't expect to be able to do something like this on your own, you would need a huge team to do create it.

Man, I hate Norton. It feels so, how should I put it... disabled. Unfortunately for me, my dad insists that it's "industry standard", and he doesn't care if it slows down the PC like hell. It gives me problems every time I'm given the task of cleaning up the family computer.

Consoles are fun, but they aren't serious, which is what we've established.
I don't think any game should be "serious", in that regard. Doesn't that kinda take the fun out of it?
