'designer' burberry and gucci? i don't think so...
chav are the 'reiging lower class' in the nothern part of Great Britain at least,
they are usually those that are pathetic in school, get drunk every night on a street corner, are always smacked up, have VERY (i can't stress how bad it is) grammar, find the need to say the f word before every noun and verb, start on any passing person, hate 'goffs' and 'moshie bashers' (thanks fat-pie for that one :P ) and they are those people that sneak round the side of the building at break at school to have a cigarette,
chavs are really a northern great britain phenomenom, but in my trip to belgium, i managed to spot a few chavs,

people sometime ask me whe i hate chavs, the reason is because they hate me for being a mosher, when i'm actually an indie, so that leads to me hating them, if they just kept out of all other people's way, never hated us and were just like normal citizen (like us type) then i would have no problem with chavs

Traits:
burberry,
cap (usually burberry) worn very high so you can see the top of their head,
head pitted with hair gel,
'BLING' loads of crappy 'gold' jewelry from elizabeth dukes, usual a clown for the ladies....
bright white nike, puma, umbro and all the other sports brands' trainers (sneakers for you americans)
football socks that have their tracksuit bottoms tucked into,
henry lloyd striped jumper with a hooded top underneath and the hood pulled out the top, usually worn up over the cap

any thing anyone else?

and i as i have said, americans run away, you are the lucky ones!!
