Are you saying that if you removed religion from america it would implode on itself because the majority of people would become twisted murderers, rapists, etc as soon as the 'barrier' to immorality was cleared
No, but some would. :P Which isn't to say that religion's the ideal way to keep miscreants in line, especially since I don't think there's any surveys like "If you weren't a Christian, would you become a murderer/rapist?" Either way, it's not going away until mankind is extinct.

People have the potential to do a lot of things but largely lack the motivation to do so. Fear = good motivator. More power to you if you can live a decent life withour religion but a good chunk of people need the fire and brimstone to keep 'em on the right track.

The Ark - This Piece Of Poetry Is Meant To Do Harm

You've been watching over me
Say you're keeping me company
I should be grateful I suppose
And compare you to a summer's rose

You've been talking sweet to me
About peace, love and harmony
But I know what you say about me
So now I tell you 'cause I gotta break fre

That I can't give you no false affection
I can do without your phony charm
This train ain't movin' in your direction
This piece of poetry is meant to do harm

And please don't give me no warm reception
What you call peace to me's a call to arms
Some are singing to raise affection
This piece of poetry is meant to do harm!

When you have a nephew, insist that it be named Magnus.

Congrats, Mr. Bob! :) I want to be an uncle too, it'd be better than being a father.

Machine Go Boom - The Punchline Song

Have you heard the news?
We ain't got shit to lose anymore
Don't you read the papers?
Or do you just throw them in the fireplace to keep you warm?

Because the more you think about it
The less you want to think at all!
Because the more you talk about it
The quicker the punchline calls out your name

You could have something like you're sent to Xen with all those marines to a military outpost and then before you can go out and pwn some aliens, they come in and pwn joo.... what a shocker that would be. You could have it episodic, i.e. you do manage to go out and pwn some zombies, then go back to base, repeat for a while, then have aliens attack your base.

Having an opinion about it would be an opinion, yes, but it's not an opinion/belief unless someone else believes that things do make sense to me... and nobody does. :)

I agree, intolerance of intolerance doesn't make sense, but then most people's opinions/beliefs don't make sense to me.

Sure they will. :) Politicans don't mind lying, atheists don't believe in Hell so there'll be no eternal damnation (which is a plus if you're a politician) if they do lie, so really they could just say they're Christian while being atheist. Woot.

Democratic Congressman in the States are rich as heck but they're still deemed as the champion of the middle-class. Just 'cause they have the money doesn't mean they don't have the ideas.

To quote Stephen Colbert:
We get it. We're not brainiacs on the nerd patrol. We're not members of the factinista. We go straight from the gut, right sir? That's where the truth lies, right down here in the gut. Do you know you have more nerve endings in your gut than you have in your head? You can look it up. I know some of you are going to say I did look it up, and that's not true. That's cause you looked it up in a book.
Next time, look it up in your gut. I did. My gut tells me that's how our nervous system works. Every night on my show, the Colbert Report, I speak straight from the gut, OK? I give people the truth, unfiltered by rational argument. I call it the "No Fact Zone." Fox News, I hold a copyright on that term.
