Santa's Revenge is my choice as well. A lot of work put into it.
I believe it may be the greenish lighting...or perhaps Doodle used a Colour Correction entity to give it a more saturated feeling. Anyway keep it up. Although one thing I don't like the large blue pillars in the first pic.

I'm thinking of adding more detail perhaps some broken wooden floors but apart from that I wanted to give the player a deja-vu feeling as if he were playing HL2. (Oh and I'm trying to finish at least one mod to answer your question.) It was compiled on fast with HDR on.
(Excuse the floating beer...I think the table has a lousy hitbox)

Well everyone has been honest. You're new to this and I think you should make map after map working on new skills until you feel you are ready to make a real map. Compare yours to others and you'll see.

I might ask for CrysisI got it this week and the SP wasn't that great. The story didn't pull me in and well I think it was worse than Far Cry but the level design ^^ I can admire it from that side especially the Sphere level where half the map is snowy and the rest is tropical...Really nice.

Just so you know any shortcut key function can be found in the menu at the top. They dont hide functions from you ^^
Yeah although I haven't listened to them I heard in the Ep2 intro map one of them explained the whole bridge thing and someone told me he jokes and says "Cinematic physics uses particles made by a monkey that types it into a computer...he then laughs and he says forget it modders. You wont be using it." (It wasn't EXACTLY that but that is what I was told)

It means they used the supposed 'Cinematic Physics' to compile as you will what the physics would look like if the model was triggered to do so. So in other words they made a model, used a program to make it break realistically for them and then put it in the map and voila. So don't expect to use it in other words D:
Hm interesting question. As far as I know you can't use those effects in those older games just yet. Perhaps Valve will update them with the new effects. They updated the Xbox version of HL2 with blur etc...they may have done that to the PC version as well. I haven't checked.
By the way I like the dark bits under your eyes. Kinda looks gothic and suits the comics art style.

What if and this was an idea I had if I were to map for Portal which I doubt I will now. What if you have a similar platform that goes round a corner and has that sign showing the cake. But instead of fire there is actually a small room with a table and cake

You seem pretty good with (Photoshop?) effects. I liked it although I think the english on this part could be better:
"And that is by blowing the brains out on some of them zombies." Although the character may talk like that I think it seems a bit too realistic and puts me off. I actually got taken away from the comic because it didn't sound right. I think maybe this would have been better:

Yeah glad I could help. The Strider battle wasn't hard. It was just not obvious where the rocket launcher ammo was.
