That's what I said. Save the world, become vegetarian.
Not that I will.
hehe, I like that

I really don't care what happens to the world,
but I'm sure anyone who cares enough about it will find a short-term solution for it

Is the func_tankcontrol a brush based entity and is it in HL2? if so then can you move the brush to the button?
Ye, the func_tankcontrol was a brush based entity in HL1, but I can't find anything like it in HL2

in Tank Controls ? Post #208692
Yes, but I've already got a working func_tank, but I have to walk up to it and 'use' it directly.

I'm looking for a way to remotely control it from another part in the map.

For example, having the controls on one side of a wall, and the tank on the other side.

in Tank Controls ? Post #208675
In HL1, a func_tank needed a func_tankcontrol to operate (I think)
But I can't find any brush-entities that do that in HL2.

I know you can just 'use' the func_tank and control it like that, but I need a way to control it remotely,
like not having to stand by the func_tank to operate it.

Thanks for any help ^_^

OK thanks, it was a prop texture,

and lucky me, there is the same exact texture but not as a prop, so I don't have to change anything.

So problem solved, thanks

in Controlable view Post #208619
Wouldn't that still leave the 360 tuning problem ?

OK, I have an idea ^^ (if Habboi's doesn't work)

Make a func_tank, and a point_viewcontrol parented to the end of the func_tank.
Put the func_tank in the chopper instead of the player

I just made a simple test and it seems to work ^^

I don't know the exact settings to stop the func_tank from turning all the way around, but I'm sure you can.

Good idea, it reminds me of that Unreal 2004 map -

I think the lighting is great in the second post, and that pillar looks very good imo.

I assume you're still going to work on the hole at the top ?
EDIT:

in Lighting Problem :\ Post #208609
Yet another lighting problem

OK, so the problem is that if I look out of a doorway, in my map, the room I look into is really dark

Here I look through a doorway and see a well-lit room:
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/743/101oldmiserys30001ar4.jpg

Here I take a couple steps back, and the room's lighting screws up:http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/7774/101oldmiserys30002xw6.jpg

It only seems to affect certain textures,
Thanks for any help !

Agreed, HL1 is so much easier to mod etc.

I prefer mapping for source though, I think its just the physics that I

I like source multiplayer more than HL1 multiplayer,
But I prefer HL1 singleplayer, its my favorite game of all time ^^

I dunno why I get really attached to certain things, but HL1 is one of those things

in Ropes not working in CS:S Post #208155
My problem:

I wanted to make a hanging light, with a prop_physics hanging by a rope.

OK, so I have a move_rope and under it, a keyframe_rope. So I set the 2nd rope entity's parent to the light prop.

And instead of the rope going from the 1st entity to the 2nd, it goes from the 1st to the centre of the map (0,0)

I also compiled the map "sdk_cables" in CS:S and the same thing happens. But it only happens to the keyframes that wath parents.
Is there any way to get this to work in CS:S ?

Wouldn't it just be better if you died right now and got to heaven straight away?
Yea, that one's always brought up,

I agree that once you die, there is just nothing, so my motive is to enjoy myself while I still can.

If someone came up behind me while I was typing this, and shot me in the back of the head, I wouldn't be at any loss, because I wouldn't exist anymore.
Nothing would exist (to me) anymore.
(assuming that I died immediately)

Nope, I wanted to rotate the player_start 180 degrees,
But between -179.5 and 179.5, it said that strange #r* thing instead of 180

And suddenly it was 199998x199998

(on the topic of player_starts)
Something weird just happened to me in Hammer:
I was rotating a player_start, and the degrees said something like r#*, and that made the entity really big

It changed the dimensions of the player_start to 199998, 199998 >.<

Hey all, I haven't been around for awhile, and I wouldn't be around much cos it's exam time :

But anyhow, my Hammer seems to be broken. I can open Source SDK and get the menu, but when I double-click Hammer, it gives the "Program has encountered a problem and needs to close" message.

I have tried the "Refresh game content" option on the SDK menu, but that didn't help.
And I have tried "Deleting Local Content" and downloading it again, and that doesn't help either :

I know it's sort of vague, but if anyone has any Ideas for getting it working again, please tell me

Saying that you are not sad about it's death is alright by me, cos as most people have said, death would be an improvement on it's condition.

But how he said ?I am just happy that nothing happened to my wife,? makes it sound so much more heartless.

I still maintain that the Bible was not meant to be taken literally, and this God? character was put there to represent everything like change and time.

I recon that God was saying "let there be light" and stuff was just to put inexlainable things like existance into context that humans could comprehend.

Here's my problem:

I downloaded a movie, but it's sound's timing is off by about 2 seconds. Like, a person's mouth will move, then the words will come about 2 seconds later. :

I think this is quite common, and is a problem with the movie file itself ?

But does anyone know if there's a program which can edit the movie's audio or something; is there some way to shift up the movie's sound to make it start a few seconds earlier or later ?

Thanks ^^

About what Nickelplate, that SOMETHING had to cause the Big Bang:

I don't necasserally think so, if you take the Infinity of space, over an Infinity of time, something will happen sooner or later.

Like, somewhere in Infinity, something will happen at some point in time. And that point in time will come eventually.

See what I mean ? :glad:
