i was thinking to use sprites (smoke e.t.c. ) but i needed to make like hundrets of them, and quality wasn't good :/ i wanted also to make a fog a way like smoke granede effect is done, but i don't know how to make this. i mean this would be the best "fog" but... all the same :)

i was wandering how to make fog in hl/cs (whatever), because i think fog brings some kind of scary climate. i've red throug tutorials and came to conclusion that the best thing is to make some kind of "horizontal rain". made scrolling texture but... after many experiments i had to put "fog" quite low so even duckink person won't be able to sink under the fog level, coz inside a brush there was clear space. i've tried to make some additional brushes (like in rain tut) but the effect was horrible - all faces were visible.
question 1 : has anybosy tried to make a fog in his maps?
question 2 : any ideas how to make a fog so whole player could be covered in it? (limit visibility?)

i've made a folio texture, named it {blahblah, made a brush, tied it to func_ilusonary, set render mode to solid an fx amount to 255, aplied {blue tezture to this brush then mine - {blahblah texture but when i run the map i can see blue background of the texture. blue color is - R:0 G:0 B:255.
Q1: what shall i do to make this blue background invisible?
Q2: is it possible to prevent bullets to go through this brush?
please help... :

one more thing, you won't improve your shooting skills by shooting to passive targets, its like you shoot to bottles.

I wanted to ask, what qbsp2 is responsible for? when i'm compiling my map, when it comes to this file, windows is telling me that there is a problem and he will stop its running. please help. I've posted map in vault (problem maps) de_cementety.

isn't it better to play a map in CS with bots? You put like 10 (or how uch you like) bots in the game, restrict them, that they can use only knifes, and GO! GO! GO!

... can it take to compile a map, I've got 2,0 GHz procesor, 256 MB RAM, 64 MB graphic card memory and i'm waitig over 2 hours to compile a map. :confused:
It "stops" at vis.exe, is it possible that a map can compila THAT long, or there something wrong with my laptop :zonked:

I'm making a window with 6 glass panes and wooden frame, i've tied both (frame and glass) to enity (brakeable), but, if i shoot at the frame only frame will crash and glass will remain, and vice versa, if i shoot at glass - frame will remain. I've tried to group alll the items but it doesn't seem to help. Any sugestion how can it be done : , IF it can be done. :confused:

I'm just a beginner in map making, but i really would like to learn how to do some maps. Tutorial wa great, it gave me general picture and many useful informations, but, i want to make CS maps. My problem is: how can i make Terro RS point?
P.S. i've got CS CZ version. Please help.
