But as I said, I am not giving it away to cap people, people show me their best maps and the Best on wins. I know there are ALOT of good mappers on TWHL, and one of them must be instrested. And they can start the mod again and have a new story, however, still call it Shortlife, to remember me. :lol:

Only Good mappers will get this mod.

If you can remember, I was working on a mod, called Shortlife. I cannot keep up with the collage work and do Shortlife at the same time, so, I am Giving away the mod, to anyone who wants to carry it on. You also get the website too, But I will not give it away to newbs. I want to see some work before I give it away, I want it to be good and suceed! Make a map, for HL2, make it good, put it in the map volt, tell me, The best map wins and the prize is Shortlife. Take or leave it. See if I care

No, it is not a movie, read the story on the web site. All the rooms shown are storage rooms, and the boards with the offic textures on...they are suppose to be spair wall boards (if that is a word : ).

Apart from the shelf, I forgot about that, but everything else is not a prefab. If you can see the tool box and the can of coke? They are models from Blue Shift. The pet cages. I made them. Here is a little bit more info about the mod

HalfLife = Shortlife is a Halflife1 mod. In The mod you play as Dr. Breen, the administrator from Black Masa. Remember? Good. Anyway, you play as Dr. Breen and have to escape Black Masa! Who can you trust, well, maybe 2 or 3 barneys but what do they know?! Your Freinds are splatterd against walls and ceilings! What the hell is going on?! Find out when you Play Halflife = Shortlife!

short-life is a mod created for Half-life 1, where the player plays as DR. Breen, Gordon's administrator. To understand who Dr. Breen is, play Half-life 2, then play this mod. Short-life will be released in chapters, around once a month each. Each chapter is 4 levels each, so expect to


complete each chapter quicky, but once all the chapters are released, we will release a full mod, with all the chapters in one. The first chapter is set moments before Gordon pushes his test subject into the beam, and you have just entered the storage level, 30 floors underground...


We here at Shortlife.com really don't want to tell you the whole story at once, but overall, it will be released in chapters once a month. Chapters are 4 levels each, and they will be avalible for download here at Shortlife.com, hosted by GameSpy.

What type of game play will we be facing?



Shortlife Game play is almost the same style as Half life 1, it's not one of those mods where There is a grunt round every bend. Monsters are placed in the best places, some times you will get a fright, other times you might expect what's round that corner...


Are the maps narrow or wide, what type of areas will I be fighting in?


You will be fighting in a variety of places, large, small, narrow and wide. We hope to include part of XEN, and even on the other side of the combine portal...

Hello, I am really pissed off with the way you use textures in Half life2. EG. If I want to create a box, one whole texture in Halflife2 contains all the sides of the box, not like in the old Halflife where 1 side = 1 texture. I waste time having to sort the textures out! Please, If any one has a better way of texturing, please tell me!

I read the tutorial on making a mod for halfl life! It works perfect! Now, how do I make the mod work for steam? It is a half life 1 mod but I think you need to make it in a diffrent way because the menu is completely changed, and there is music playing? I want to do that! But I need my half life 1 mod to work in steam?? How do I set it up. Please tell me?! zonked - :zonked:

Before you make me look stupid 7th I did know whether to put this in the maps and mods section or the Half life 1 section, it was kinda a problem but a mod too, so I put it in both, okay? ;)

It's just that I see pictures of Halflife 1 using the new hammer, at least, I think it is. I think this because the 3D view shows the models, so you can see gordon and headcrabs exc. I thought you could only do that in the latest hammer. Where do I get Hammer 5b? :zonked:

I don't know if there is a tutorial on this, but how do I set up the new hammer to work with half life, half life is set up with steam, but How do i set it up using the source SDK, where are all the FDG files and gameinfo.txt is located, hell, where are the .wad files? Help please :zonked:
