hi, i was wondering how ppl take screenshots of their maps without a gun or spectator croshair. Is there a program i can download for this??? I'm taking bout HL2, HL2:DM etc...... thanx
Hi, i have recently taken up mapping for source but my map graphics look really bad (like i'm using Half Life 1)... Can someone plz help me or give me some tips... E.g Something just isn't right in these images...
k, thats done thanx. But the annoying thing is that i can't use models for looks cause they don't work unless they have some type of physics set to em. for example, i wanted a hole in the wall so i thought that i'd cut a square hole than fill it mostly with static bricks, thing is the players can shoot the bricks away...
ok, instead of skewing it i made another peice but cut it to look as if were a rectangle skewed, same thing happened eg: was: |.................| | | | | |.................| i cut one triangle from the bottom and one from top to form the shape. Is that meant to work??? |. | . |. . . .

hi, i made some breakble_surf source glass and it worked until i rotated it into a handrail fitting. it looks ok, but when i shoot it it pops up back horizontal to the ground and takes on the texture of broken but not 'holed' glass, i can't damage it anymore after that. Also why do some of my 'props' go invisable??? PLZ help!?!?!? Thanx

Yo, I created a map and had choose a grass texture for the ground. when i played the grass was 3D... way cool...But when i used the same texture on a different map and tested it it was only 2D(no grass sticking up). Why does this happen?
Yo, I read the tutorial (using vertex manipulation on triangular prismy things) on how to make ground and cliff's and stuff and it works fine but i always end up with gaps or edges on the ground. See here: http://www.geocities.com/galcir/gaps.gif
I try to match up all the corners and sides but another side/corner gets uneven when i do even up one side/corner. Is it just practise that helps or are there some tips to making my ground look better???

yo, i followed the tutorial but it says to choose a texture named sky, nothing else in the name, there is no texture just named sky... what do i do??? Help please...
Can someone please explain how to get a sky, using the hammer editor that comes with steam... The tutorial on this site is no help at all. When i make one it has corners and edges, CAUSE IT'S A CUBE!!! Thanks...
