I've searched the net over and over again for cusom models for HL1.
Somebody must have made a better looking grunt or zombie! I've got the HD pack but that's harldy any improvement.

Any of you guys have any nice cusom models? Or know a site where I can get some?

Haha, yeah, the AI in Quake 2 is pretty funny :P But Im raised up with Wolf, Doom, Quake all those mighty fine ID games. And it's the action in those games that are the thing you know. Demons stright from hell in doom, half men half machines in Quake, evil nazi?s in Wolf. And I do mean the first Wolf. Plain awesomeness.

But HL1, I don't know... They are so colorfull! Small round doglike things with three leggs and fishlike skin, two legged oysters with red tentacels...
And the headcrabs is stolen from the alien moveis! Exepct for one thing, the alien face huggers where scary! They where fast and intelegent. Head crabs look like a slow mix of a hamster and a tick. And I've always been a zombie fan. So understand my disapointment when I saw the HL1 zombies. They aren't brought back from the dead to feed on the flesh and brains of the living, they are just being controlled by the headcrab!

Understand me now?

Rowle: Yeah, it might be you and it might be the fact that the game itself is laggy ;P I only said that the servers are non-laggish but the game is pretty laggy. :) I play it a lot on LAN and it basicly the same on the net, that's how I know that the servers aren't laggy :P

FresheD, you're getting me all wrong here, I think it's fine to use the old enemies. I wouldn't mind shooting the Quake2 enemies back to hell over and over and over again, I would love it. But the HL1 monsters suck! I want to kill people, not 3 legged dogs without heads! And no mo headcrabs! They are dull and look funny. HL1 monsters FTL.

Tried zombie panic some time ago. Dudes, don't play it.
If you wanna shot zombies, the best way to do that with the HL1 engine is for sure BrainBread. Sure, the maps are aweful but the gameplay is super.
Not many servers around for that mod either but those that are running aren't laggy or anything. :heart:

I find it kind of sad that they actualy use the original HL1 monsters... Im SICK of that. Otherwise it was pretty much a waste of time, the maps looked pretty good but that's about it.

Hmmm... I almost never use sounds in my maps so I can't really answer this question... But I think I read something about it some time ago... Try giving it a name and trigger it... I probably remember it all wrong. Sorry.

Once again, Im not sure at all. As I said, I almost never use sounds in my maps...

I just have the evil midget as usual, I've made changes to the avatar 3 times but the midget it always in it... Im thinking about changing it to something that is a little more me.

Leave the light off and the sprite on. Have a trigger_auto trigger them, then the light will be on when the map starts...

Like I said, it was my first try at an all electronic song, no real instruments. So yes, I've had some experience before that :)

Search for some scales and piano chords on the net, that would give you a whole lot. Also, try to start out with drums, then add to that.

Man... They suck pretty bad. Add some rythm. Use patherns the song can follow. Add melodies, comps, drumms, bass...

It actualy is kind of bad for the first try.

But think of what we said and try again.

If he have weapon models they would go black when he jumps. weapons would ruin this mod! Rimrook told you that there are other ways to kill these fuckers so let's stick to that! :D

Personaly I find it quite awesome that Valve isn't making this game.
I dislike Vavle and their games, strange enough. I didn't care much for HL1 singeplayer, I only like the multiplayer part because it kind of reminds me of UT (our comouters at school couldn't run UT so we went with HLDM). And HL1 is easy to map/mod for. And that's probably the only reasons that I like HL1.

ID makes all the good games, and you know it ;)
