Check the hlbsp.exe hlvis.exe etc. It might be an error in the names.
Like when I copypasted the path and forgot to change the names so I had 4 hlbsp.exe

Yes, Max Payne, both 1 and 2 are lovely games. Otherwise I'd recomend the Hitman series, the quake series or PainKiller.

It's possible that you have Hammer in let's say (C:) and the wads in (D:), that could made Hammer unable to find the wads even if you can use them in the editor. And that "there was a problem compiling the map" could be a whole lotta things ye know.

Did you set up Hammer for CS and later created a new configuration for maybe HLDM and then forgot to put the hlbsp.exe etc. in the right place?

I get that old MAX_LEAF_FACES error but the tricky part is that I haven't added any brushes from the last version (wich compiles fine.) all I have done is to change some textures to my own, scaled up some textures to optimize the r_speeds and REDUCED several rather useless brushes. So basicly the map should run better, less brushes, less faces and some bigger textures.
So why this error now? Has anybody else been faced with this?

I agree, it's rather strange.
Is it possible to use another size on the images for the sky? the standard 256pixles looks awefull and I want to use something bigger, like 512, to give it a little more detail. I searched the forum but I didn't really find anything of use. I haven't tested this wich probably would be the best way to go, but for my own comfort I decided to ask TWHL for the truth.
I think I read somewhere that it's possible, I can't recall where I read it or if that's even what I read. And another question while im at it, if it works, will bigger sky images have an effect on the r_speeds and performance of my map?

I've been searching the net for about an hour now. Im looking for a horn-sound. You know, that large horn-sound you hear when there are bombs about to fall, a nuclear powerplant faliur or a natrual disaster.
I believe that this horn can be heard in Silent Hill too, atleast in the movie...

My brother bought me a Nvidia GeForce FX 5600 today!
Before that I had GeForce 2 card so it's quite the update for me.
It's just a shame that the rest of my computer (Exept my kickass monitor) was invented before the wheel... But hey, I only play HL1 and Quake2 so I don't really need anything better XD.
Im also thinking about installing Linux tonight.
