Yes thats exactly what the cordon (or whatever its called) does. Just highlight a section of ur map with the tool on, make sure theres a player start in that area and run the map. it will only run the area u want it to run

Yeah i think thats about right...lol im touched u guys think im an expert :P
Anywho! I'll see if i can help. The compass needs to be set to 180 degrees to push the player away from the fan. SO if the fan is pointing upwards, setting the compass to 180 will push the player away from the fan. Hope i helped

Well i think this map is just a bit to complex for Half-life. Also SKY BOX!! BAD!! Very bad. Also i think some of the brush work has to be a little bit neater. I mean look at the jump pad! Very messy brushwork there

Ok well its obviuosly that texture problem in that log. I checked out Tommy's site and got this:

Example:
Entity 0, Brush 12: mixed face contents
Texture ROCK_X1 and SKY
Entity 0, Brush 37: mixed face contents
Texture STEEL_9 and WATER7
In Halflife, brushes are required to have all faces be of the same type (solid, water, slime, sky, origin). Fortunately almost all textures are solid. If you put a water texture on one side of a brush which has dirt or steel textures for example, that would generate the error. The engine needs to know what is inside the brush, and it would be real confusing if different types could be put onto the same brush.

The fix is relatively simple. Simply find the offending brush, and then the faces with the inappropriate texture and change it. If a brush uses SKY, all sides must be sky. The same is true for CLIP, and ORIGIN textures as well. If you are careful it is possible to mix water textures (provided you don't accidently use a slime texture on the brush)

Save it into the Hammer folder instead. This is what u do. In the configuration options, where it says "Place compiled maps in this directory..." put in the valve/maps folder.
For example
DRIVE NAME/SIERRA/Half-Life/valve/maps
Then where its says "RMF directory" put it in the maps folder in the Hammer folder
For example
DRIVE NAME/Hammer/maps
Now save that map with the new directories. Run it and see what happens! If it doesn't work, well, um, ur map is screwed! :P

in Camera Post #10282
Cause I've been mucking around with making a moving camera scene thingy. So i made a test level to try and got it to work by walking into a trigger which sets of a multi_manger, which triggers the camera. Now the camera follows the first few path_corners but then stops and it goes back to the control of gordon...can u only have 3 path corners for cameras? Or am i doing something wrong?

OK this is mostly for the benefit of Supermario. OK u kno a prefab is a premade object that u can instantly put in a map. So u search for a prefab u want, download it (it will probably be in a rmf format, if u need to kno how to convert it into a prefab tell me, its dead simple)

Yep tru. But your map should run fine anyway. Perhaps its just too compilcated for the compile to handle.

hmmm let me try remember now
Ok do my first instructions again.
1. Go to the Advanced tab
2. Click the first button (Settings)
3. In the new window go to the Advanced tab
4. Press the "Change" button
5. The Virtual Memory window appears.
6. Now you must kno how big ur hard drive is and how much room is left. There should be a recomemdation at the bottom.
7. Click on the dot that says "Custom size"
8. Take that recomemdation and put it into the "Initial size" box
9. In the other box put the same thing.
10. Hit "set"
11. Hit OK.
12. Hit Apply then OK
13. Hit apply then ok
14. Restart your computer

And thats it! If any directions are confusing tell me :)

No its not a good idea at all. Have you specified your own virtual memory? If so try changing it so windows does it. otherwise increase the swap file size to suit how much space is left on ur hard drive. If u put too much and theres no hard drive room left then there are problems
