I have some photos with a famous castle in our country, if I have time I'll have to see what's good to upload and also link them here.

Sooo... you won Archie's competition which was supposed to give you 15$ Steam games. Just pointing out.

Can we include a building like this?

Well, it definitely looks cool, but when one of my colleagues will ask me: "What's that you're wearing?"

"Oh, it's a cool mod produced by some guys from a community we're I'm active, and I'm wearing to support the mod".

"Aha... :quizzical: "

Awkwardness ensues.

[EDIT] Why black? Come on man, think about your buddies from TWHL who have to endure 40C in the summer!

[EDIT2] These were just my thoughts, I'm not going to actually buy one, since the price of transport is too damn high.

[EDIT3] I'm done with the edits.

Ok.

Let's make a survey in which we ask TWHL members when they feel they'll have their most free time in the near future. That way you can know when to host a new competition.
Ask Penguinboy for a poll.

Naticus seems to have exposed the less polite version of my response :).

Well, let's all be fairplay and say that everyone's dissapointed. Let's consider it a reminder for better hosted competitions in the future. I agree with Naticus, although staying optimistic, it was not fully wasted time. I flexed my texturing muscle, and anyway, enjoyed time is not wasted time.
And in the end, Archie has a life...

I find his quote from the Big Brother thread funny(slightly modified):
Why bother subscribingmapping? I'm never going to update this seriesthread again, it's so shit. I hate working on it and you probably hate watching itwaiting, so why bother? I'm sick of it.
Also, in future competitions hosted by Archie, Urby should not participate, instead he should be a judge.

Well, quite a dull ending to a time consuming competition. Perhaps it was the amount of work it takes to make those textures that scared a lot of people. Frankly, if I wasn't bored I wouldn't have participated either.

I sensed from the start that Urby would win. I agree that my textures don't quite fit a theme. I know you value cleanliness in design. You can definitely see my messy style in my maps, but I'm trying to improve. In any case, it was a good exercise.

Now, what game(s) will Urby choose?

Watched The Dark Knight Rises. Not as awesome as the first, but still a thrilling cinematic experience. The interesting part of the plot for me was the change of the 'bad guy' figure. While the Joker was still evil, he had humor, something that humanizes him. Bane( why did they use the servant actor's name?), on the other hand, lacks this. He is the expression of pure evil, even though it turns out... well, not spoiling this. It just gave me the chills...
Also, the name of the mentor could only bring me to mind Razagul( sorry for not spelling right), a Protoss character. Weird...

Urby managed to piss himself when there were like 2-3 seconds left until he could bring to light his penis.
Punish Urby for this, offer him a free trip to Shetland( couldn't find a Pissland or something appropriate really, and I found about this by reading of a bird that lives in that island in NG magazine).
[EDIT] Found out that in english the name for those birds are "Northern Gannet". In my language it's "Raven of the sea".

Yeah, we had these kinds of english tests at the end of high-school. It's the reason why I didn't have the maximum score, because at the audition test you had to give an answer like this based on hearing 2 times a conversation, NOT READING A TEXT.

Btw,
It's all just further proof that Sir Ken Robinson is a damn smart individual.
At some point that man mentions about divergent thinking. Well, I just bought some weeks ago a book: "Lateral thinking". I think it means mostly the same subject. I don't actually "learn" anything from the book, I think it's supposed to "awaken" something that's already been there in the childhood, but was forcefully put asleep by the educational system. Now I remember Red's line from The Shawshank Redemption: "The man has become institutionalized!" (not actually quoting, but he's saying something like that).

in Just Finished Gaming: ... Post #309007
I completed the game of life... wait, you can't do that.

On a serious note though, I can't even remember what was the last game I finished. I know I started playing Bastion a couple of months ago, and progressed quite a bit, but then exams came and I had no time of playing. The game is a nice combination of hack&slash and beautifully crafted visual arts. Not to forget about the soundtrack. Its universe is colorful and inspiring.

I wanted to also finish GTA4... well, I can't even remember the last mission.

The last game that I seriously finished and enjoyed was Stalker: Call of Pripyat( ah, so I do remember!). When I bought it I was like "meh, Steam sale, why not, I'll give it a try". After a couple of hours I got addicted and I felt bad when I finished it!
The game combines very well the simplicity of an intuitive interface with a great variety of items and weapons, as well as trading. The addicting part for me were the thrilling adventures in forsaken places for artifacts and other "treasure seeking" activities. I remember there was a big complex of city-like structures(it was also the place where at some point you'd travel underground to the city part) where night caught me. I was crapping my pants. It is that genuine feeling of traveling to a "dangerous" place, then going asap to a "safe" place that made the game so wonderful.
One thing I felt the game lacked were vehicles. Other than that, really a great game.

Never heard about this book, so I read on wikipedia. There's a striking resemblance between 1984's plot and HL2's story.
Also:
Nineteen Eighty-Four is a dystopian novel about an oligarchical society. It was banned in communist Russia and very nearly banned in the U.S. and U.K. in the early 1960s.
I understand why it was banned in USSR, but I don't understand US and UK.
