I did notice there was a person under that name here on the forums. I can assure that I did not get the name from him or anyone else here on the forums. The original idea was to call the mod The Hunted, but as I kind of expected, that name was already taken by a mod (that looks quite good, if I do say so) in the modding community. So, since I suck at names, I changed the last letter of the last word. Booya.

So, sorry, The Hunter.

I havn't posted here for a while, so Hey to all those who remember me. ;)

Me and a number of people from another forum I mod on have got together to make a modification for the Source engine. Currently, we've got more than enough coders to work on the project but we have a extreme lack of creative and skilled mappers.

We will have a website up soon, and we're also trying to organise a IRC channel were developers can meet and discuss ideas or just chill.

Well, I totally uninstalled and re-ran the 600kb installer I got with Condition Zero. Updated again, logged in with my old account. It doesn't ask me about games. My play games window comes up and all the games are blacked out. If I click on games under the My Games tab it gives me the option to install them, but HL isn't there. Hold on for a sec, I'll get a screenshot.

Cool, okay, that topic should make people look. Okay, I'm having a problem with Steam and I'm wondering if anyone can help.
I want to install third party modifications to play, but there is a number of problems. I list them below.

1) I don't have a SteamAppsricht@email.com. I have a username folder instead of my e-mail. I don't know if this is a problem, but I thought I'd list it anyway.
2) After I regged with Steam, I used my CZ key to download Counter-Strike, and only Counter-Strike. But, this was put in iameyeless/counter-strike/cstrike. The counter-strike folder looks like the half life folder because it contains the valve directory.
3) I can't seem to find a way to download HL from Steam, as it tells me to on the modification website.
4) I tried installing half-life to a my main user directory but that didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou very much.

If you want SvenCoop just for offline play, dig up a older version of the MOD. But otherwise you will need to download Steam. As far as I can remember, it moves your HL install into a new directory, has tons of updates and bugs, and generally sucks. But, eh, it's the price you pay for SvenCoop, right? :D

A few things, BL. One, do you have a good ammount of people following you in this? Two, are you advanced yourself in mapping, moddeling or coding? And remember, 80% of all mods never get finished. Hell, 60% never get out of the planning stages. If you're serious in doing this, learn, and take it slow. And stop spamming the damn forums with crap that's not needed.

Two words. Scripted, Sequence. And yes, you can make them run on a path, same way you would with grunts, I beleive.

Skyboxes generally suck. I'm yet to see a game that's included them and it hasn't looked sucky (Except maybe Unreal/Unreal Tournament).
I beleive trackerUI.dll isn't of importance. It's always happened to me, and alot of other people, and it doesn't affect anything. Did you go into Map Properties to set the sky? Did you put the sky texture in places?

There should be a toggle to turn monster's friendlyness on or off. Off means they shoot you, on they don't, and either way, they should shoot at the Aliens if they're in range.

Sure. I'd love to get it under way. No guns, only a cool hand model. :D
Could be more than one type of gameplay, too. Mob? Play that? You run and hide, like hide and seek, and you gotta make it back to a certain zone without being caught by the seeker. Thing is, though, I have no idea when it comes to Modding. I could do some cool maps, but that's asfar as it goes. Oh, and I could host the map and make a website.

Did any of you ever play Tag or Hide and seek as a kid? Hell yeah, we all (well, most of us) did! I've been playing several HL mods and mapping for a while, now, and me and some friends decided to try Hide and seek using Counter-Strike. Sure, the lack of darkness and hiding spots made it a bit crappy, but it was FUN, a element some Half-Life mods lack in some ways. Plus there was always that ONE noob who liked to pull out a AK and waste us all. Usually it was me, but what can you do..

I was thinking of a Tag/Hide and Seek modification for Half-Life. I think there was one started and ditched a while ago, but if I got anyone with me, I'd like to stick with this and have some fun. So, all of you mappers who enjoy the darkness, this is for you! ;)
