This is going to be fun.
1/x+1 + 5x/(x^2-1) = 4/x-1
Let's see. You have:

1/(x+1) = (x+1)^-1 (I don't know why I put this here, but it might be handy later)

5x/(x^2-1) //I want to suppose this is 5x/((x?) -1) and not 5x/( x^(2-1) )

So:

5x/(x?-1) = 4/(x-1) - 1/(x+1)

I'll take the right part:

[ 4 (x+1) / (x+1)*(x-1) ] - [ (x-1) / (x+1)*(x-1) ]

[ (4x+4) / ( x? - x + x -1) ] - [ (x-1) / ( x? - x + x -1) ]

[ (4x+4) / (x?-1) ] - [ (x-1) / (x?-1) ]

Join them:

[ (4x+4) - (x-1) ] / (x?-1)

Wait, where was I going?

I forget I barely passed my maths final. I shouldn't be the one doing this.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Nefarious. Better do what he says, he's probably closer to the right procedure for the above reasons.

Not directly. But in a way, yes, it's a reminder that I could have found better things to do instead of spending at least half the time I'm awake using it. Having friends to go out with is one.

I don't know which texture you're talking about, but if you want to make a door that has two textures (or the same texture aligned in two different ways on the same plane) you'll need to make the door two brushes.

in Rooms (mini co-op project) Post #277929
I like it that my room is seen positively despite being unfinished. Some things will be different once it's finished, but I don't want to spoil surprises.

I'm not sure if I'll keep the mirror ball as it is but I don't have any better ideas on how to improve it so far so I guess that'll do.

I think I'd like to try the bottle models from the bonus map, so I'm formally asking for permission here to whom it concerns (can't remember the author right now) to place them in my room.

Also, bugs:
  • Menu map: I'm still unable to get the HEV. And why is there a table with guns on a side platform? I got there without noclipping.
  • World Crafter's room: I think the doors before the "mirror closet" closed on me (with me outside), and I couldn't open them again. Has that changed since the previous release? I don't remember that happening.
  • After my room: Sometimes, the changelevel/teleport doesn't work and I find myself stuck in my room unable to go back to the menu map.
  • Bonus map: If I try to enter a second time, it's not reset and the train/elevator/whatever is at the end of its path, leaving me stuck in it.
I think that's all.

Psilous: Maybe your words are correctly spelled, but often your grammar is bizarre at best. Which is an interesting interpretation exercise.

But I'm with you. I got my hands on Worldcraft 3.3 in 2002, I only started posting in a forum when I came across TWHL in 2009. But actually, I didn't even have internet access back in 2002. I had to learn all I could from the occasional read of VERC whenever I was at a friend's; my killboxes lasted less than a month when I realised they were shit. In fact, I was never able to compile them, because I only had the q tools. But I had to swallow all my shit maps because I had noone to ask, and I had to learn like a man, on my own.

Had to get screenshots in 3d flat, because I don't have any textures on it yet, the top left one is in 3d textured and it all kind of looks like a big mess.
It doesn't look like a mess because it's on 3D textured. It is a mess. The textures only contribute to it.

@Cap: That's not the one I've seen. Meaning there is more than one brand trying to manufacture this kind of product.

The one I've read about is made by Axis (surveillance equipment manufacturer??) and it's called HRP-4C. I can only suppose they named it that after seeing the massive failure of the previous model, the HRP-3S :P

Inspiration for the sex robot sprang from the September 11, 2001 attack that destroyed the World Trade Center in New York City.

"I had a friend who passed away in 9-11," Hines said. "I promised myself I would create a program to store my friend's personality, and that became the foundation for Roxxxy True Companion."
This person should be locked away alone in a cell far, far away from any civilisation. You don't do things like this for respect to your friends' memories. That, or his friend was a total slut.

But that's not 69.55 Euros, it's 69.55 Pounds Sterling. Which makes it a little bit worse: UK? 69.55 = 118.310435 CA$

And the first result in the Google search for this conversion is, coincidentally, this thread in TWHL.

YAY THANKS :D

I had a dream a few nights ago, about my Rooms entry. It was AWESOME! It wasn't too much different than what it is now, there were just a few extra details that made it uber cool. But then again, it was a dream so after waking up I realised the changes were rather stupid - such as bizarre toggling texlights (like the fifties_ ligts from halflife.wad) on the walls.

These Christians demonize Muslims and they're taught to hate everyone except Christians. The intolerance and militancy of the tone made me cringe.
Wrong, the bible teaches us to love everyone and try to explain somebody the importance of God in the Universe.
He said these, not all.

I don't agree with religion. I was raised as a catholic christian and I gave it up when I started to notice it made no sense. The only thing I gathered in all these years is that catholic religion is something made up in the early middle ages to keep the ignorant masses in submission.

What irks me the most is those stupid extremists who believe only them are right and everything else is absolute evil (despite most religions teaching to love others anyway). This is the kind of people that voted GWB twice. It does happen in other religions too, though.

See? I can mix religion and politics in the same paragraph as well. What do I get?

And this is why I tend to stay away from religion or politics topics. They're always the same. Besides, the most important points were brought by others earlier in the thread anyway.
