I was wondering, How can I mirror a texture?

Also, If I wanted a door to make a different sound besides the generic ones they give you in hammer, how could I add a sound for it?

You use a negative texture scale.

And make the door trigger an ambient_generic.

are you sure?

Because, I'm talking about that one door that has only a half of the texture. I want to know if I can mirror that to the other side.

I don't know which door texture you are talking about, but I'm guessing you just negate the X Scale and maybe adjust the X Shift, using the Texture Application tool.

I don't know which texture you're talking about, but if you want to make a door that has two textures (or the same texture aligned in two different ways on the same plane) you'll need to make the door two brushes.

Yeah, move the door to world, clip it in half, use null/bevel on the inside faces that you don't see, and make both brushes the same entity.

Your first question, you're being kind of vague about. I'm not sure if you're wanting 2 differently aligned textures side-by-side on one side of a door, or a texture that is aligned differently on each side (front and back).
use null/bevel on the inside faces that you don't see,
Unnecessary, they'll be deleted anyway since they're within the same entity.

yeah agrees with srry. If you're talking about a double door, this is the way i'd do it:

1. build only one side of the double door, and texture it with your door texture.
2. take that door, rotate it 180 degrees (texture lock is [on] off), and place it next to the first door.
3. open texture application(shift-a), select the opposite-sided texture, and apply it(alt+right-click) to the side you started on.

Well, the texture i'm talking about has no opposite side.

What do you mean opposite side?

Like, I only have one half of a door, but I don't have the other half.

You can mirror the texture of a door like above by using texture lock and rotating brushes with that door texture around. You dont have to have another texture.

Or make the number in the texture's scale negative. It'll flip.

Is this a texture in halflife.wad? What is its name? Because I can't think of any like you're describing.

Neither does the one in my example. If you try the above steps with texture lock on, it will work for you...

YES! =)

never knew that... neat! =)
