I started making a vanilla styled map but ended creating something non vanilla i guess, im not sure.
I will submit my map nevertheless if it doesn't fit i hope you guys simply disqualify it and i will release this map as a non competing map on your lovely website.

p.s.
Can you create a competition where the theme is yellow and concrete? Then have a chance of winning! (JOKE)

that is an interesting concept, I've been thinking about speed racing with jumps and speed boosters we might combine that with collecting sprites and create a non shooting mod.

We could create a slow paced tranquillity map and a racing map... i am a music producer and audio engineer by profession so i can do sound design and music.

Conversion mod for source isnt original enough for me to be interested in.
Just sounds like a lot of work and no fun :')

If you download any of my released hldm maps from 2020 on TWHL you should get this error in the console, if not then its just my haflife files have been corrupt. Would you do me that favour jamie?

No i actually have to go to "entity report" to find them and when i do it just shows the lined doots that make up the entities space

Most weapons and item models just vanish when i put them down... any ideas on how to fix that?

Try the isolation method
first take out all point entities
if that works
start isolating the problem by putting back the entities in groups

the same rule can be applied to brush entities

if that doesn't solve your problems you can send me the map or jmf file.

I think i fixed it, i changed the texture from the trigger AA to solid blue , here's the link to the updated map

i think you cannot have a func_button with a trigger aa texture

i think it only works for trigger_once and trigger_multiple (you can use those as buttons) (triggers)

Hi guys i used to make maps for hl1dm in my teenage years and as I have lost my health to be able to work i have too much free time on my hands.
I've been spending some time in level design for hl1dm the past weeks and am wondering if there is a community / servers where I can meet other level designers that share the same passion for creating these rat mazes hl1dm maps are.

I am a 36 year old icelander by the way, i began playing halflife in 1999 and have been playing other games since then but theres just something about the quake / goldsource engine that i love. Simple sometimes is just better, less is more, restrictions in game engines makes you have to be creative when level designing.

Ive been looking at the maps that was submitted to the "bridge the gap" contest, and i have to say just WOW just great maps, good job guys!
