Glad to hear you're alright :) A tumour the size of a tennisball is massive, especially if it's located in the head. I'm amazed they didn't discover it the first 5 times. Oh well, that's doctors, a lot of them seem to just want to prescribe something and get it over with.

Do you really care that much about loading time? I don't mind waiting a few seconds (because that's what we're talking about here) extra. On my never defragged and generally slow stationary computer, PS loads in around 6 seconds. You might have saved those seconds, but what are you gonna do with that amount of time? :P

If you're gonna compare the two, compare the features instead.

in about you and my PC Post #260260
Finding AGP cards is pretty hard nowadays. X1950XT is indeed the fastest (atleast to my knowledge) but you'd probably just end up with a bottleneck if you put that card in. Roughly speaking, your pc is only as good as the weakest component.

You may want to consider saving your money and buying a new computer instead. :)

in Kid kills parents over Halo 3 Post #260259
You missed my point entirely. The point I'm trying to make is that people love to put the blame on whatever they can. Yes, firearms certainly make killing someone easier, however statistics clearly show that firearms do not contribute to crime. In fact, the FBI's latest crime report shows, that despite gun ownership in the US being at an all-time high, murders are down 43% since 1991, and violent crime has dropped 38%. Also, versus national average, right-to-carry states (states that allow you to carry a firearm in public) have a 28% lower murder rate, 50% fewer robbery incidents, and 24% lower overall violent crime rates.

I'm not trying to sway your opinion on firearm ownership necessarily, but mass media loves to paint an inaccurate picture of things. Let's not point the finger at guns or at violent games. There was something clearly wrong with this guy, and chances are he would have harmed someone in his lifetime, with or without a gun and without ever playing a violent game.
What? Guns don't contribute to crime? Even a single killing with a gun is by definition a "contribution to crime" so I don't get what you're trying to prove here. I seriously can't grasp why people (like you it seems) defend America's gun policy. And statistics can prove just about anything, do you think those gun related killings would be higher if guns were outlawed? I don't.

in Kid kills parents over Halo 3 Post #260171
That would be nice if it were the case, but there were plenty of brutal murders before guns. In absence of the gun, most likely he would have done something like taking a knife from the kitchen and slitting his parents' throats from behind.
That's completely irrelevant. Yes there are brutal murders comitted without guns, but guns surely don't help as this incident clearly shows. And you can't know that the kid would use a kitchen knife instead. Psychologists have stated that stabbing someone and shooting someone is basically like night and day, stabbing is more personal. That's why you can't assume he'd whack his parents some other way if he didn't have the gun at his disposal. There is no "most likely".
Seriously though, look at the guy. He looks like a loon.
Hehe, I thought so too, he looks simian in a strange way :P

in Kid kills parents over Halo 3 Post #260132
It's Halo 3's fault of course, not the fact that his dad (like every other american it seems) had a gun in the house...

I'm not defending the kid, he's clearly got some issues, but you'd see a lot less of shit like that if everyone and everything wasn't packing heat.

No I don't "believe" in christmas since I'm not religious, but my family celebrates it so naturally I'm included as well. in Do you think this is really true? Post #260007
That's nothing new. Many retailers are dropping bluray completely simply because it doesn't generate enough profit, which in turn leads to people being unable to buy it should they want one, which leads to more retailers dropping it etc.

I don't see the blueray format being around much longer. Once the downfall has begun, it's hard to get back, and besides, most people (me included) are content with watching regular DVD quality anyway.

Multiboxing is becoming quite common in WoW. Sometimes I come across someone who's playing 4-5 characters at once using dual/multiboxing. It's annoying to face multiboxers in combat but it is legal, allthough in my mind Autohotkey constitutes as a third party software, which is disallowed. It all comes down to money of course, some nerds are willing to pay 4 times as much money each month so naturally it's allowed by Blizzard :P

EDIT: I wonder what that guy pays in electricity bills each month ;D

It's probably better to be a little sneaky at first, to "warm us up" to the idea that we are not alone. If I were an Alien, I'd tell the others to put some blinking lights on the spaceships and then fly around all over the earth. First just a little, then more and more until everyone and their grandma has seen a UFO. That's when I'd make contact, when everyone has gotten used to it basically.

in The Wii, Xbox 360 & PS3 so far...... Post #255919
I got a 360 and I'm happy with it. I see no reason to buy another console in the near future, Wii doesn't interest me at all save from using it to play old Nes/Snes/N64 games, and the PS3 can go and suck eggs.

And no, I'm not a fanboy. I have quite a few different consoles lying around at home, and all have their own qualities. It's just that this generation has much less Console-Exclusive games so there's really no need to buy more than one console.

I have it and I'm quite torn. I think the massive hype is to blame, it's really a neat game but I can't help thinking that I expected more somehow.

I enjoyed the cell and creature phases, the tribal and civ phases were honestly mindnumbingly boring. Can't really say anything about space as I've just entered it.

I managed to forget to paint my UFO so I'm flying around in a completely grey ship, any way to change that?
