Whats so fun about making viruses?
I am sorry I didn't read the whole thread, I just add my 2 cents :
just consider these possibilities:
to get some attentionI remember years ago there was cracked amiga games where the "cracker" just... added his l33t hax0rz name when the game started, nothing else, it's like those kids who had "by", "brought to you by", "powered by" etc at the start of mangas for example you downloaded: because they translated it, they think it belongs to it, they think they made it

to annoysome people just have a sad and pointless life, and some of them are skilled enough to waste it to waste those of the others : some ones send you letters like "your mother told me your are *$@&ass" and to your mother "lol your son just told you're a #&itch!!", some others write hax, this is a part of human being

ChallengeSome people, while looking at a mountain, feel they have to reach its summit, to "beat" it, again, this is human being, some others, they look at a girl, they won't stop until they f#ck#d her, some others about video games (finish it, get the hiscore etc), some others it's about money, power, drugs, arts etc... and there are this part of the hackers: a new soft come out, let's beat it: I don't care my hax will bore people, I don't even think to release it, I will just send it to the "scene", as a proof, and of course some nolife around will talk about it

CompetitionYou're the boss of a company that just released an incredible, totally revolutionary, powerful, new software. Fine. You get lot of money, hire lot of people, you are on the newspaper, on internet, you got lot of friends etc. Fine, fine, until somebody release a competitor product...
Most people just keep working hard on their side to still make their products competitive, some others think about an other way to keep the leadership...
Keep the people need anti-virus softwareYou own a company that sell anti-virus software. Fine. What is, seriously, the best way to keep it working fine?
How do you seriously think they got the fix before everybody???If there weren't diseases, there wouldn't be doctors.
If there weren't thieves, there wouldn't be cops.
If there weren't soldiers, there wouldn't be soldiers.
If there were education, there wouldn't be any need of judges, politicians, prisons, lawyers, countries and all those guys who live in the middle of papers and grids and numbers and think for us and live thanks to us...
The elite part of our civilisation needs its worst part to keep their businesses working, it's a matter of balance, of survival, for them...
