well, I have the week off. that means im going to be able to finish(or get close to it) the story, map some, then go outside and blow random things up, and play some Steel Batalion Splinter Cell:CT and KoToR 2.

and on another note I wore the PRK shirt to school today and some of the more gaming oriented people accually knew what PRK was. looks like we have some people expecting this, so we better get to work on it

summary:
were making a mod, Problem-Reaction-Kill. it is set in a huge city that has been infested with zombies caused by an acciedent in a labratory in the city, the one you worked at. the combine have quarentined the city by building a huge wall around it. you have been sent to the city.

theres the summary about the game without any spoilers. if I ever get the story done soon, which I should, we can start full scale mapping.

and if you want you can scroll through the pages looking for screens of the old stuff(before we decied to do this in HL?), we don't have any scrrens of stuff from HL? but they will come

I geve it to you in my last post, its all there, but there are no erros given with the one about it crasheing when its run. i just start it up,pop into the map it freezes and crashes after about 1/2 a second

no, they can't teleport atoms Unbreakable. its accually called Quantum Teleportation. its where they create twin atoms that match each others states, so when one changes the other matchs it.

so...many...cripling...errors...

severly...invalid...missle...nosecone...
Unknown...textures...
crashes...when...level started...
proper lights... .rad...not included...

Why, and I haven't even started my part yet?

anyway, im trying to fix the problems. so far:

new nosecone made, it doesn't look as good though
Found out that someone had just changed the name of the missing textuer from CAPLOCKS to normal and replaced all intances of it

Lights Rad substiuted with a info_texlights(better Idea then passing a lights.rad since that caused problems.

still can't figure out what causes it to crash when the level starts, I don't get any errors when compileing or when I play it, it just crashes within seconds.

after you get out of the building and into the street you go right. then you cant continue on because of a baracade and have to turn into a side ally. you see the strider walkin behind the baracade. you see it again on the other side of the baracade behind a combine car and some solders and arrested citizens

ahh, I can see you didn't read the tutorials.

info_nodes are what monsters use to navigate, place them in you map to give monsters the ability to move normaly, placing them about 164-192 units apart usually works well

more importantly though, there is a picture near the bottom showing you the 'build programs' dialog. you haven't set those programs to the correct ones. fix that.

are you using zoners Half-life compile tools or the ones that came with Hammer. becasue the ones that came with it light the map as all dark sometimes if rad doen't run right.

1: more exactly it is near the polish/german border, seeing as Nova Prospekt has been pointed out to be a polish name. and since you have that body of water north of there(highway 17) it further proves that city 17 is there. im betting it was once either Berlin or some other big city near there. and Barney, Kliener, ETC moved there because it is breens head quaters and they are trying to get rid of breen and the combine.

well, you would ahve to go out and get a modeling program. youll probably have to pay for it.

then you would have to learn to use it.
next you would make the model in it.
then you would skin it and compile

and the peter griffin you have would be very little use for a model, although you might be able to use its colors to see what to put where. but you could use it as a sprite.

and this shoud be in HL1 mapping questions not here.

...thats the same problem I had when I tryed to put that card into my machine. it just needs a updated driver, let me see if I can find the link to the page.

and I would still have that radeon but I returned it becasue I thought that if the drivers it shiped with were bad then the card must not be all that good, and so I got my 5500 for $30 more then the Radeon(which I had goten from big sale.)

ya, you should be able to do it with a path_track as apposed to a path_corner. im pretty sure this is done by puting the altarnate path to take in then targeting the path_track to change from the normal to the alternate or back again.

a trigger push up works well though. but you need to set it at 800 for no gravity, becasue gravity pulls you down at 800.

I haven't got much done with the compo now either, but we should all at least be mapping this if we have nothing better to do.

conveyers usually push stuff on them if set up correctly, just make sure it is set to have some push(look at its options), and that the things you want to push are func_pushables, or func_trains if you want to get more complicated.
