Hi.. This is my first post. :)
I recently started mapping for HL1, and i read almost every useful tutorial here on the site.. But i have a problem.. I want to build a room like shown on this picture.. http://frip.dk/helious/Room1.JPG

Every wall tutches eachother, and there is both a floor and a cieling.. But in the log it says that i havevery many leaks.. I checked every wall and they all tutch eachother.. I really cant see the problem..

Im trying to make some custom "Rock" like walls to make it look like you are in a cave...

Go to: file > load pointfile
And select the pointfile with your maps name.
You should see lots of point rows, pointing to your leaks. But if you don't succeed, try making a box around your map and hollowing it... I do that, when i get pissed off, looking for leaks... :P

Are you mapping for hl1 or hl2? Anywho - if you are mapping for hl1 - you get hammer 3.4 here and you get hammer 3.5 here...
First you must install 3.4 and after that - 3.5... :)

Hammer is WorldCraft. VALVe renamed it when they went from 3.3 to 3.4, which you should definitely use.

The SDK provided by Sierra is evidently out-of-date. Along with Hammer 3.4 or 3.5, you should also be using Zoner's Half-Life Tools to actually do the compiling, as opposed to the antiquated Quake tools bizarrely provided.

As for the leak, consult this and this.

"Don't make a big box around your level!"

How do i then make a sky? :S

Depends on the map. A large hollow box encompassing the map is rarely a good idea for any reason.

What is the "Problem Vault"?

In the map vault there is a problem maps section! Upload your map to that vault! ;)
