I feel kinda dumb asking, but hey, I'm new at this still.

Where can I find a model of a tree? Dosen't seem to be in the halflife package.

Thanks

Well, first of all, thanks for the link.

But isn't there trees located somewhere in hl?

Pretty sure there aren't any. There is a tutorial on trees, though, go and have a look at it.

You're not new, are you? I thought I recognised you when I saw the avatar, and I just checked your profile ;). Welcome back!

Well, not really. But I wanted to come back, to try mapping in halflife 2 and haven't really done any maps, just playing around with the phsysics, which are great :)

Thanks seventh.

Yes there are trees. I'm not sure which folder their in but I think theres a nature folder. They where used quite a bit in ravenholm oaks etc.

There are some dead trees, indeed. Nothing really green and bushy though. Take a look at some CSS content, those look, well, greener... ;)

Those models are all stored in GCF files bytheway. Google for GCFScape, so you can browse (and extract files from) those files.

CSS tree models can be imported over to HL2 but if you desire custom models then you 'could' use the tree prefab model that comes free with 'XSI' and compile it as long as you give rights to the maker...

Here is a picture:

The simple non-working way would be as they say above, use the default Valve models in the foliage folder.
