I am working on a map for HL1 and I'm having a problem. My func_walls are vanishing when I get a certain distance away (not far away). What can I do about this? When I make them "toWorld" they work but that's obvious. Is there any way I can get them to stay visible?

In game, is it just my computer?

its probably doing that because there is to many entity's to render, i had this problem with fencing in large areas.

1)Too many entities?

2)r_speeds? (overall)

Can't really think of anything else, check your compile log, it may help.

Are you running Software mode?

The map is very small and there are only a few entites. I run the map by playing Half-Life not directly from the editor. (Shortcut on desktop).

Nope, how do I detect the r_speeds and what is a good level to be at?

i had that problem, although only when not running vis and rad? is this the same problem? Otherwise, I think its just a bug, but try moving everything into a new map, sometimes this works, as the actual file thats being compiled had been corrupted. <- not very common though solution, but can work in these situations

type into the console 'r_speeds 1' you'll get some readings in the top left corner telling you various things (Framerates, for example) i reccommend you check the r_speeds tutorial to find out more.

A good level is round about 800...Methinks :)

Wahoo, it's fixed and I don't know how it happened! I love when that happens! Anyway, I read the r_speeds tut and it appeared that my speeds were fine. Thanks guys.
