Is it possible to use different sky light types in parts of a single map?

I'm confused about using multiple light_environment entities (I've seen in some maps).

I think not.
Light_environment sets the light beaming down from the sky itself, not the single point entity. Therefore, making multiple light_environments would just null eachother out.

Depends on the compile tools you use, to my knowledge. Recent ZHLT builds require one light_environment alone.

thanks.

what about "light_spot" entities flagged to "sky", that's the same as light_environment? (I mean, you can only have one?)

Possibly. Read/search the ZHLT changelog :).

You can have multiple but Zoners tools only use one for the lighting of all skybrushes. Older tools only caused sky brushes to cast light when they had a line of sight to a light_environment, hence the need for multiple light_environments.

If you want your different skies to emit different sorts of light, then maybe there's a parameter for the rad program, otherwise it's going to be some lighting work of your own...

Just change to another level with a diffrent sky type.

sorry, I didn't get it. could you explaint that?

he means you should make another map if you want a different light_environment.

i honestly agree.. i cant think of one reason why you would want to change it on the same map. it'd be so unrealistic

In other words make a levelchange. Search the tutorials you'll find how to make one there for sure.

Oh that, how stupid I am.
I was just wondering if it was possible.
'Realism' is a point of view anyway. :P

Thank you.
