That's not really a foolproof way. I remember entering my HL CD key twice and I never got a response. I've also read something where one guy bought a copy of HL2 (I think) and tried to register with steam but it said that the key was already registered. So you might want to watch out for keygen users.

all it says in my games by half life is (preloaded)... I dont understand what you mean by activating it "there seems to be no way that I can. What should I do?
