When i compile a basic map which includes juset a box, a spawn point, anda light and when i try to compile i dont get any errors but when i go to play the map it dont work because i dont have a saved BSP file to play on even though i have my hlbsp.exe st up right and it set to normal when compiling... It was working late last night it compiled fine and when i went to compile again later it doesn't save a BSP file any more if any one knows why please help me!

your using hammers tools, right? thats asking for trouble from the beginning. are you compiling in expert or beginner mode, and have you tried asking it to place compiled maps in a different location?

If you take some more time to type words correctly, it'd make your post much easier to read.

Anyway, there's little info you give us. A compile log would be helpfull here.

Also, alexb911, what do you mean with Hammers tools and asking for trouble? He's using ZHLT compilers by the look of it, and compiling from the Hammer compile box isn't troublesome unless you've configured it incorrectly...

thats wat i woz getting at! incorrectly configured. :cyclops:

have you followed setting up guide in tutorials, and double-checked all paths, etc. also, does it compile without vis & rad?

the bsp probably isnt in you hl maps folder try that
