Not at all that bad, Hunter, in fact, quite good! But i agree about the masked shotgun dude. The default low def shotgun dude from the original game looks pretty much the same...

Heheh.. Not too shabby. :)
I'd say making a pack of generic grunts (nothing too new, maybe just changed colours of the uniform, faces covered by masks, etc.), along with the main guerilla guys (like the ones you've made), since it's gonna be pretty weird seeing them repeat all the time.

Muzz could just make a monster_guerilla (same as hgrunt, only with another model).
The monster_guerilla could also be slightly more powerful, shoot in full auto, not just short bursts, have more hp, etc. making him like a mini-boss. :)

Btw, what does M.A.C.U mean again?

Argh. Do you really need that? I can't model a new grunt for you, but if you have a grunt model, with the animations as the original one, then it might be possible... But it takes time.

Good news, i got the models from G-max into Blender, wich has better HL support i hope.

i first exported it to a MD3 with the Gamepack, then i imported in Lithunwrap from wich i exported it to the Wavefront .OBJ format. All i need to do know is get the textures right.

And here is the evidence.

and where is the evidence? =D

It's not important since it's never revealed in-game, but i believe it was Militia Against Cover-Ups

Got the textures working now too, so now all that is left are figuring out the animations, wich shouldnt form too much of a barrier i hope.

What about the monster_guerilla, Daub? I can only base it off the original human grunt (LD version).

Omg! HLHS is back on track it looks like. ^^

Yeah, that's what I had in mind.
What about the increased HP, increased fire rate, etc?

increased HP and damage is easy.. you just edit the.. oh what is it? skills.cfg i think...

But rate of fire.. i think that'd require research and codingz!

Darn.

Daub, the hgrunt rate of fire is not difined in the code, and i can't find anything that could change. It has something to do with the fire animations of the grunt. The grunt has three of them, and it fires a burst on every animation. Removeing the last two animation of the grunt might fix it. I don't know how. :/

in the .SMD are all the animations that need to be compiled into the model, and there should also be a line of code somewhere that tells it to randomly play them i believe, same as the idle1 idle2 etc animations.

Because i love you people so much and to prove that i got the little f**ker out of G-max into Anim8or and thus allowing me to export it to a commenly handled format in wich i can hopefully compile this into a model. Wich seems unlikely right now because i hate blender and milkshape hates me.

Good job indeed, but I'm always worried custom models won't mix with the old Half-Life ones. Maybe if you include the high-def models with the mod, and edit the skins slightly, or something...
Posted 17 years ago2007-01-26 20:26:53 UTC Post #210680
We allready agreed on it that we're gonna use the low def weapons to hold on to that HL feeling, but you have point there: default LD weapons mixed with uber weapons modelled by the pepporz... Uhm, hello?
The Mad Carrot The Mad CarrotMad Carrot
Posted 17 years ago2007-01-26 20:35:36 UTC Post #210682
I too thought the low-def weapons were good a while ago, when the maps still had a Black Mesa-ish feel to them, but now that they're all realistic looking, I think it's a bad idea. But whatever. I don't have much say these things anyway, I'm just a lowly mapper who needs to get to work.

it's really just texture resolution that separates pepper's sexy offspring from the default weapons, isn't it? Can we not just retexture them?
Archie ArchieGoodbye Moonmen
Posted 17 years ago2007-01-27 13:44:07 UTC Post #210767
Yes, texture reesolution is the biggest change, but lest not jump to conclusions until i got it all into Half-life Mkay?

Garg, blender could be a good piece of software if it werent for the fact that it is even worse documentated then G-max.

The Pirate Bay is the best torrent tracker site around. Legal threats > all, it makes up for their lack of seeders.
But yeah, scrapetorrent's handy for checking through multiple sites.
