I'd rather wait a few seconds longer and look at a good quality picture than a shitty one.

Did some UrbEx this summer, my town has a "ghost harbour" with loads of abandoned ships, big warehouses and whatnot. :)

Of course you can get quality without the imagesize being huge. I'm just saying I personally don't mind waiting a bit. I have a 0.5mbit connection so I'll have to wait regardless..

As long as it isn't .bmp or .png it's okay with me :P

yes. i Have a 12.1 inch screen!! TWELVE point ONE inches.
and i have no other place to put the woofer. My desk space is extremely limited and i think i maximized space.. i think.

The speakers kick ass tho. its a 5.1 system and i got the set for $49.00

When i get my first paycheck in (should be this Friday) i'm thinking about getting a docking station for my laptop. Complete with a full size keyboard and a widescreen monitor. (keyboard and minotor to come at a later date, of course.)

That looks terrible. Not only is it blurry and pixelated, it can't even decide what the real colors were.
Posted 17 years ago2007-02-28 20:15:56 UTC Post #214357
@Tetsuo: I got the same speakers, too. These 5.1 speakers kick ass. And when i got mine for 55, and free shipping, it was a bargain.

Just put the sub on the floor by your feet. And im damned sure your not getting the most out of your sorround with your left and right front speakers right next to eachother. And whered the center speaker go off to?

EDIT:

This is how this system is supposed to be used:
(NOT 56k FRIENDLY, so dont bitch.)

Subwoofer is on the floor, front and center in place, and the 2 rear are, I'd say about 5 feet behind me.

Dont ask about various room decorations, arent mine. Like the sunflower mouse pad, isn't it awesome though? ;D

I'm gonna have to bitch. It looks like you uploaded those pictures directly off the camera, am I right? No resizing or anything. :

And Dorian, that picture just sucks. You could have at least turned the lights on. We don't really need to see your pretty lights, although they are kinda pretty.
Posted 17 years ago2007-02-28 21:59:30 UTC Post #214365
I dont wanna be bothered to resize the pictures. If you dont wanna look because of the size, then dont.

Nah, that doesn't work for me. I like to pick on lazy people.

And you, sir, are one of the laziest out there. All you would have to do is open the picture directly on the camera in PS, PSP, or whatever, resize it, and save it with a decent amount of compression onto your hard drive, then continue the normal process of uploading it. In fact, given the tremendous size of the images, it's likely it would have taken less time to do this than wait for a 1 Mb image to upload. For refusing to take time out of your life to do this, I'm going to beat you with my failstick.

The biggest problem people seem to have about your image size argument Orpheus is that it is too harsh. 150kb is NOT worth complaining about. 300kb is BARELY worth complaining about. When you start reaching 400+ then yes, it becomes a problem.

I work as a sign writer, part of what comes with my job is idiotic people emailing me artwork that is WAY too large. I recently worked on a 1000x1000mm sign containing a 600dpi bitmap that was just under 400mb big, i shit you not.. and it was emailed to me. You quite obviously have way too low a tolerance for such things. This is the internet you know, part of using it is becoming adjusted to the crap that fills it.. within reason of course.

Ok I have the 2.1 speaker system, and i don't feel like re-wiring it right yet. Anyway. I decided i needed more space, so i built a desk and now its all neat and happy.

Headphones are too annoying for me. I like to just sit down at my desk and not worry about the sound.
