I was wondering if there was a way to make sure sheilds automaticaly recharge like 1 per 1 second or something with out coding, mabye a cfg or somthing. And also if possible say you take damage and your sheilds have gone down, mabye like a 4 second deley before they start to charge back up again :( ?

If your lost kinda think of it like Halo :D .

Shield.

That would require coding. I don't see how else it could be done.

what do you mean by shields?

I believe he means hazard suit power. Ever played Halo? Or are you a terrible human being? :D

Shield = HEV Suit Power.

And yes, this would require coding.

Good idea eh?
Shame that coding is difficult.

just make a trigger hurt and make the ammount of hurt a negative number.

I thought we already covered the fact that he wants HEV power, not health. :

Well you could do it with health, and just not have HEV, and it would still sorta be like Halo.

A game_player_equip, that gives the players item_batteries every second would work. You'd hear the battery pickup sounds (unless this is for a mod), although that's as close as you can get without coding.

but wouldnt that increast the he by 15 instead of 1?
That might work if you trigger it every 15 seconds no?

Edit the skill.cfg and it wouldn't. Again, only if this is for a mod.

True.
And if the player already had 100 AP - the batteries would spawn in the map making it pretty messy.

Besides setting up all the triggers and making the floor in every section into a charger would personally make me RAWR!

I'd rather look for a coder.

plus the floor being an entity would mess with the lighting no?

Indeedy. All the models would be solid black.

Spirit has a trigger_HEVcharge or something that is similar to a trigger_hurt with a negative value but will increase HEV power instead.

if the entrire floor was an entity, wouldnt the extra chargers when their suit is fully charged just fall through the ground. And have a real ground under the entire map to catch them so they wouldnt keep falling through the void... just a dumb thought. Actualy i dont even know if that would work at all...
Posted 16 years ago2007-06-18 19:56:27 UTC Post #225608
Basically this cannot be done without coding. End of story. If the floor was an entity the lighting would be screwy and the map would L-A-A-G-G-G-G. If you used a trigger to charge the suit it would still require a huge amount of other triggers to get the 4 second delay before they started charging.
