i downloaded a couple of tree models to use for hl, when i put them in my map they look fine through hammer. but when i compile and run it the blue parts arent transparent. i tried changing the render mode but my trees just disapear after i do that. :

are you running in Steam HL?

i seem to remember that older versions dont support model transparancy.

Exactly 3mil. This can actually be fixed though by copying sw.dll, hw.dll, and possibly some others from your Steam Half-Life directory into your WON Half-Life directory. Someone else will have to confirm this though, I haven't done that in a while since I switched to using Steam Half-Life exclusively.

Alternatively, download the latest half-life patch (1.1.1.0???) Because I run my HL without steam

You can download a few files to enable model transperancy in won version. No patch will do it. Let me find you a link.

http://infringingwebsite.com/spirit/files/spirit14mod.rar

Download that, open the rar and copy everything into c:sierrahalf-life.

You should definitely be patched, but that won't make models transparent.

Also, aaron, I'm not sure that's really a good idea. All he needs are a couple different DLLs that he already has from Steam. Are you telling him to replace all his original files with Spirit's?

The ones from steam do not work on the won version of half-life. Also, the spirit team did not make them, they just included it with there mod.
