Doesn't HLDM lower the fall damage? Are you by any chance testing this in Deathmatch?

HL Deathmatch mode causes 10 points of fall damage regardless of height and speed.

Probably with 10 HP or less, or into a void.

halflife_genius: run your map in SP, go to the console, type "map <mapname>".

you can set realistic fall damage when you set up a server.

SP is singleplayer.
MP is multiplayer.

Ok.

When Realistic Fall damage is oon, you just fall to death if you fall from too high. If its off, you receive 10 damage points of fall damage nomatter how high you're falling from.

This is only the case in multiplayer though, in singleplayer there's always realistic fall damage.

Edit: Thanks to potatis_invalid for correcting a mistake.

Read the post above mine. There's a headcrab in the picture next to it. Slowly, make sure you understand it. That's what's going on.

Got it?

how do you turn on or set realistic falling damage?
Posted 16 years ago2008-01-18 23:36:40 UTC Post #243796
You can turn it on/off when you start the game, or you can type mp_falldamage <0 or 1> in your console in-game.
