 im having a prolem with my map.when i create an 8 sided arch and compile it , i saw that in between the edges of the 8 sided arch there is a small gap. HOW DO I FIX IT????should i make it into a func_wall?

extra notes: there is no leak.

Well, first off. You should try and fix it on your own.

Try creating the same structure without using the pre-made shapes.
Try turning it into a func_wall.
Try messing around with the scale of the textures.

Just try and fix it on your own first, and then tell us what you have tried and what you think is the problem.

Personaly, I think you should create the structure on your own, insted of using the pre-made shapes. It always works best.

use the vertex tool to make them all meet together on every side so there are no gaps

In the distance, around the mountain, a mighty truck-like sound can be heard growing louder... is it, can be?...

edit: oh okey, try what tosse said, and:

-make sure your verticies are on-grid. (they don't really have to be on grid but where one object connects to another, the verticies must reside on the SAME EXACT POINT or you get a "gap".)

People say "on-grid" all the time, because unless you're using the scale feature (alt-e) or translating the objects in some other way, the ONLY other way to keep from seeing seams or gaps is to align each set of verticies on an actual grid point.

Toggle "snap to grid" if you haven't already, and adjust the grid size using the "[" and "]" as needed.

When all else fails, just try remaking the object or the copy/paste method of pasting the object in a new .rmf, or simply deleting it and bring it back as a prefab or some such.

The grid is your friend, use it! :P

I remember when I was new to mapping, I felt limited by the grid. But you learn to use everything.

I had an error, just like yours, it was on a pillar. A cylinder with 10 sides and one of the sides went gone! I gave it a lot of thought and then I deleted the pillar and replaced it with another cylinder just like the non-working one. And then it worked!

It's hard to explane what sometimes happens, but usualy when an error like that appears, it can help by just doing something random like that.

You should at-least feel happy that it has no leaks. I sure know i would.
