I counter your question with an armada of my own;

Is the ring beam vertical or horizontal?
Did you try triggering it a different way?
Rename the entities?
Try a different compile option?
Try deleting it and creating the ring over.
Restart windows?
And.. what's your current entity set-up?

It's vertical.
It's flag "Start on" is applied . It's not triggered.
I tried.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat ?!

I don't understand.

ok.
vertical beams are weird.
You need to offset the ring a bit else it won't show up properly.
instead of having say, the top func_train or target whatever, DIRECTLY above the other target, move it slightly forward, by say, 4 units or so.
It's barely noticeable.

Please help me help you.
Try some of the things. instead of just lolling at me, else i won't make an effort anymore.

I'm not lolling at you ... I found another solution for the mechanism , but I can't understand you :

If you have any kind of mods running like amx, try disable them.

Maybe its not the beam, but something else. Don't know what though. That error isn't even listed on Tommy14.

The start and end entities of a ring beam can only be of sertain types.
Info_target, light or path_track for example doesn't work.
Func_train, monster_barney and weapon_glock does.

In fact any brush entity will work as long as there's an ORIGIN brush attached to it.

So that's the problem ..... I use info Targets . This is getting interesting . So , if I attach an origin brush to a normal brush and tie them together in a func_wall , will it work ?

Yes. But instead of asking, you might as well just try it out.
