You probably know there's a new update comming for TF2, the important thing is they're adding 2 community maps as official, I think it's the first time they take community maps and put them on a game. Here's the copypaste from tf2maps.net:

Valve has announced that the Pyro class update for its online multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2 will be released this Thursday, June 19. The update includes three unlockable weapons?such as the previously unveiled Axtinguisher?which can be obtained via 35 new class-specific achievements. Valve has previously stated that the Pyro update will also include "significant changes" to the core class which will be enacted regardless of whether players have the new weapons.
In addition to the new weapons and achievements, two community-created maps for the game will be included in the update. To tide players over til Thursday, Valve also plans to release Meet the Sniper, the latest video in its series of comedic class profiles, tomorrow morning.
The developer also revealed that it will hold another Team Fortress 2 free weekend, allowing players who haven't yet purchased the title to play the game for free from Friday morning through Sunday evening. During that time, players can download and play Team Fortress 2 from Valve's downloadable PC gaming platform Steam free of charge.

I think one of the maps will be cp_redstone, I read somewhere about a tf2 dev saying that this map was very good and had an official quality so I srsly think it will become official.

The 19th? Valve? Releasing fast updates?

I don't like the 95% of the custom TF2 maps, they all seems to copy the original ones. I don't like redstone, it reminds me to cp_granary.

Fastline looks crap. I don't mind Redstone.

I've played Redstone, it's got a fairly win setting, but it's built pretty scrappy in places. If Valve fixed it up a bit I'd be all for it becoming official, but that'll never happen.

Fastlane looks to be the exact opposite - Same old boring design, but quite well built.

TF2 is gonna turn into BF2, not cool. Unlockable weapons aren't a good thing. I prefer to be able to just go on any server and have an equal advantage to everybody else. I like TF2, it's well balanced and well designed, but this is one of those things that'll make the game even less viable as a competitive game than it already is and most likely ruin the balance. I hope there's at least a serverside option to disable all of this new unlockable bullshit.

Sniper video was awesome.

And I REALLY hope that civilian bobble head was a hint at the hunted map coming out. I wanna see that redone so bad.

Agreed, Hunted was all I used to play TFC for.

Here you got the update. I'm dissapointed. CP_fastlane and cp_turbine are the custom maps that are officials now. Fastlane is like ok, but WTF ctf_turbine??? turbine is one of the worst custom maps I have ever played so wtf is doing it as official? I can't undestand.

And the new unlockables for pyro... flare gun seems useful, the backburner... I don't understand it and doesn't seem to be very useful. I think they should have made a liquid flamethrower, so you can shoot the gasoline and then burn it all on the floor.

And the Axtinguisher looks ok, but I prefer the normal Axe (visual)

I wanted a Flamethrower/Extinguisher hybrid. :<

These achievements are by far the most awesome thing I've seen in TF2 in awhile.

Hey but sriously, what do you think about ctf_turbine? Do you think it deserves to be official?

I didn't know you could ignite someone using that Taunt?

I don't know about those maps, though, because I've never played any custom maps.

Neither have I. But I looked at the screenies, and redstone looked alot more entertain then the ones selected. DEEP SIGH.

turbine is a TERRIBLE map. it's the last one i'd choose for a custom map. it looks bad and plays bad.

i haven't played fastlane so i can't comment

@saw: redstone looks okay but it's pretty crappy - too similar to well and granary so it's boring.

if anyone get's a chance to play cp_steel give it a try. it's confusing at first but it's a good concept and actually fun to play. it gets really insane at times (which is awesome).

but yeah.....turbine? what the hell is valve thinking? even I could make a better map :/
