The clouds look odd in the second picture.
Posted 17 years ago2007-08-28 08:05:19 UTC Post #233051
Yeah, I know, that's because I didn't had a stand for the camera, and I had to manually set the three different exposures between shots (100 buck camera, not exactly the best machine, but I don't have money for anything better ATM). So, I couldn't perfectly hold it still, and Photomatrix couldn't align them properly on that image.

Sweet HDR shots, Masta... the 2nd one looks awesome. The others, not so much.

I was in Rome a year ago. I stayed in a hotel overlooking the Fontana di Trevi, and it was very nice, and I want to go back there now.
No pics then? :) I went there last year as well, and this year when my sister went her boyfriend proposed to her by the fountain.

...she said yes.
Posted 17 years ago2007-08-29 00:52:18 UTC Post #233067
Goodness.

I hate to be the guy who proposed and was declined.

That would be very awkward and depressing.

Fontana di Trevi is literally in the middle of nowhere. Walking around at random in Rome, go down a little sidestreet and there it is. What a strange place to build the world's most famous fountain!

last photo i took, its of the lunar eclipse yesterday. unlike you rich folk, i dont have access to a $1000000 camera, so deal with it.

The ironic thing is, my new camera's standard 18-55mm lens didn't have the zoom power to get a decent sized, focused shot of said lunar eclipse last night. :P

Couldn't see it all that clear from here anyway. But oh boy, when I get a nice 70-300mm lens..

Glass chess sets have photogaphic potential. FACT.
I duplicated the layer and added a radial zoom filter to it before taking the opacity down to ~15% for the blur and used a colour channel adjustment layer for the blue.

How much do these cameras cost?
Posted 16 years ago2008-06-03 00:02:14 UTC Post #250862
Probably more than you're willing to spend if you want photos like most of the ones in this thread. My sister uses $700 camera for photos like that.

Uploaded them whilst capped, quite an effort! Phew.

Note: None of these are digitally manip'd past altering the levels in Camera Raw and cropping and rotating them.

Pics I took back in Mexico with a 20-yr-old Zenit camera (manual wind-up and everything, love that hunk of metal ). Experimented with B&W/Sepia colouring in the first three.

here's some relatively newer ones from me.

Shiney
The sun was just setting really nicely in the reflection on the windows.

Gangster
Quite possibly the best picture i've ever taken purely due to the fact that it was incidental; yet turned out to be the perfect gangster pose.

Reflection
Sunny day, we were all slumped on the grass like dead bumblebees.

KFC
She is.

Just to get 2 new changes out of the way in 1 photo - me with my new short hair, and with my new dual-monitor set up. Yes, I am aware short hair makes me look 12
