Think you play too much World of Warcraft? Compared to "Prepared," you don't. In a case of game addiction gone officially bananas, gaming blog Joystiq reports on what is surely the biggest Warcraft fan of them all. Known only under the moniker "Prepared," the gamer plays a stunning 36 World of Warcraft accounts on 11 different computers...simultaneously. Stemming from a desire to manage raids - large-scale gameplay sessions that typically require the teamwork of multiple players - all by himself, the die-hard gamer seems undaunted by both the financial and lifestyle commitments to such a geeky endeavor. "It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule," he writes. "Not bad considering I'm looking at it like it's a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft." Like yachting, perhaps. And despite the downturn in the economy, Prepared can't wait to get his hands on the upcoming Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. "I lan to be at the store when it opens and will purchase 36 copies of it. With tax, it should be about $1500 for all of them. "Word of Prepared's over-the-top addiction comes on the heels of the annual Blizzcon Convention, a fan-oriented celebration of the games created by Warcraft publisher Blizzard.

What I meant was the massive amount of hardware involved, not to mention all that cash needed to pay to keep this going. Surely you don't find this normal.

It all comes down to money of course, some nerds are willing to pay 4 times as much money each month so naturally it's allowed by Blizzard

I think everyone should print those pics out and put them up on their wall as a constant reminder that if your desk ever ends up looking like that, it's time to shoot yourself.

I'm not going to judge someone for playing a little WoW, but 36 accounts?! 36 accounts/copies/whatever of any game is just ridiculous.

Hey Strider, why don't you try to invite this "Prepared" guy to join TWHL, maybe he could hook us up with some spare laptops for free.

At least WoW doesn't hurt other people.

pepper: Find me a hobbyist who owns multiple copies of each tool, as well as multiple workshops to get his models done faster.

Of course Blizzard is going to allow multiboxing, it's in their best financial interest. They know once people start confronting these multiboxers more frequently, the honest, single character player out there will have no choice but to also become a multiboxer, and therefore remain competitive on equal terms with the other multiboxing players. It will be like an arms race, the best player will not be decided by who has the best gaming skills, but by who has the most simultaneous accounts. And who will benefit the most out of this? Why good'ol Blizzard of course. CACH'ING - CACH'ING - CACH'ING.......

Whoever came up with the idea of WoW (and most MMO's in general) are all freakin financial geniuses.

fake. i doubt that some one could even play wow on three pcs at a time and atcually be good.

It's better for people to go nuts over WoW than other things.

I know parents who beat their children until they're unconscious. A two-year-old girl was kicked to death by her step-father. People get behind bars because they microwaved their babies to death.

At least WoW doesn't hurt other people.
